HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 79-31RESOLUTION NO. 79-31 RESOLUTION AWARDING THE FRANCHISE FOR ABATED VEHICLES TO WILLIAM BEDFORD, DBA DEBCO TOWING, WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Section 22660 et seq. provides for an Abandoned Vehicle Trust Fund and a method of disbursement of funds to local agencies that participate in the aban- doned Vehicle Abatement Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Lodi adopted Ordinance No. 954 on June 16, 1971, now Article 6, Section 14-85 Lodi City Code, pro- viding for the removal and dismantling of abandoned, wrecked, dis- mantled, or inoperative vehicles on private property within the in- corporated limits of the City of Lodi. WHEREAS, William Befford dba DEBCO Towing is a duly licensed automobile dismantling contractor with sufficient equipment to fulfill the requirements of removal of abandoned vehicles and the dismantling thereof and is desirous of providing such service to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lodi does hereby award the contract for the removal and dismantling of abandoned, wrecked, dismantled or inoperative vehicles on private property within the incorporated limits of the City of Lodi to William Bedford, dba DEBCO Towing.
