RESOLUTION URGING THE RETENTION OF
ALL POST OFFICE FACILITIES IN
DOWNTOWN LODI
WHEREAS, the City of Lodi has been informed by
the United States Postal Department that in its continuing
efforts to provide improved postal service, it is considering
the construction of a new post office at Lodi, California.
WHEREAS it is believed that over 600 boxes and
approximately 1000 window transactions per day at the
present site, generate essential customers for the local
retail merchants, financial institutions, and this type of
business is necessary to keep the downtown area economically
viable.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Lodi strongly urges the retention of all post
office facilities in downtown Lodi.

I hereby certify that Resolution No. 80-115 was passed and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Lodi in a
regular meeting held September 3, 1980 by the following
vote:
Ayes: Councilmen - Hughes, McCarty, Murphy,
Pinkerton, and Katnich
Noes: Councilmen - None
Absent: Councilmen - None
