HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2001-76RESOLUTION NO. 2001-76 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH POWER ENGINEERS, INC., FOR THE MCLANE SUBSTATION GROUNDING ANALYSIS AND DESIGN WHEREAS, a portion of the McLane Substation Site was divided off some years ago for construction of a well, and at that time a cyclone fence was installed to provide physical separation between the two City facilities; and WHEREAS, the ground grid was left in place within the entire site. One function of the ground grid in a substation is to reduce step and touch potentials (voltages) on the perimeter and within the substation to acceptable levels during fault conditions; and WHEREAS, solid station control facilities now commonly used at well sites could be exposed to damaging potentials; and WHEREAS, to ensure that a safe environment exists around and adjacent to the substation facility, it is recommended that an analysis of the grounding system be performed and corrective measures, if warranted, be designed and subsequently implemented. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lodi City Council does hereby authorize the City Manager to execute a professional services agreement with Power Engineers, Inc., for the McLane Substation Grounding Analysis and Design, at a cost not to exceed $10,000.00.
