HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2001-56RESOLUTION NO. 2001-56 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR ARMORY PARK FIELD LIGHTING, 333 N. WASHINGTON STREET, AND SOFTBALL COMPLEX FIELD LIGHTING, 401 N. STOCKTON STREET, AND FURTHER APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THIS PROJECT WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened on February 7, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. for the contract for Armory Park Field Lighting, 333 N. Washington Street, and Softball Complex Field Lighting, 401 N. Stockton Street, described in the specifications approved by the City Council on August 2, 2000; and WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows: Bidder Location Bid Engineer's Estimate $121,412.00 MarTech Electric Lodi $76,952.60" Bockmon & Woody, Inc. Stockton $113,019.97 Horn Electric Lodi $116,950.98 B&H Electric Lodi $119,184.97 Pacific Excavation Elk Grove $119,789.00 Collins Electric Stockton $121,219.00 BRC Construction Elverta $127,379.00 Poscon Electric Pittsburg $158,000.00 Columbia Electric San Leandro $169,975.00 • MarTech Electric's bid contained numerous mathematical errors and a significant unit price error on bid item 18 that reduced the total corrected bid price to $76,952.60. Upon this discovery, they have requested to withdraw their bid. The City of Lodi has allowed the withdrawal of the MarTech Electric bid pursuant to Contracts Code §§5103 & 5101(a). WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends award of the bid for the contract for Armory Park Field Lighting, 333 N. Washington Street, and Softball Complex Field Lighting, 401 N. Stockton Street, to the low bidder, Bockman & Woody Electric Company, Inc., of Stockton, California. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Lodi City Council that the award of the contract for Armory Park Field Lighting, 333 N. Washington Street, and Softball Complex Field Lighting, 401 N. Stockton Street, be and the same is hereby awarded to Bockman & Woody Electric Company, Inc., of Stockton, California, the low bidder, in the amount of $113,019.97; and BE 1T FURTHER RESOLVED, that funds in the amount of $135,000.00 be appropriated as follows for this project: 2000/01 Parks and Recreation Capital Outlay Fund $ 60,000 Public Benefits Program 75,000 Project Estimate: $135,000 Dated: March 7, 2001 I hereby certify that Resolution No. 2001-56 was passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Lodi in a regular meeting held March 7, 2001, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS — Hitchcock, Howard, Land, Pennino and Mayor Nakanishi NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS — None ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS — None ABSTAIN: COUNCIL MEMBERS — None SAN J.
