HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 2000-209RESOLUTION NO. 2000-209 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL ACCEPTING A BICYCLE MOTOCROSS BMX FACILITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT FROM THE NATIONAL RECREATION AND PARKS ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, on March 2, 1999 a group of citizens came before the Parks and Recreation Commission requesting consideration for support of a BMX race track in Lodi; and WHEREAS, on June 1, 1999, the Parks and Recreation Commission voted 3-0 in favor of supporting a BMX facility at the Century Boulevard extension and forwarded their recommendation to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council at the August 3, 1999 Shirtsleeve Session reviewed and discussed the proposed BMX track, and requested further information from BMX; and WHEREAS, the Lodi Parks and Recreation Department submitted and received one of only 20 BMX Facility Development Grants offered by the National Parks and Recreation Association; and WHEREAS, this grant will include equipment and in-kind support to construct a competition -quality facility, and will include the following: Starting Gate: $1,500.00 Rapid Gate $ 850.00 Sure Start System $ 750.00 Moto -Maker Software Package $ 150.00 Operator and Equipment Used in Construction of the Track for Five Days $2,000.00 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lodi City Council hereby accepts the Bicycle Motocross BMX Facility Development Grant in the amount of $5,250.00 from the National Recreation and Parks.
