HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 89-1441 RESOLUTION NO. 89-144 A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL URGING THE RAIDERS TO RETURN TO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA TO A PERMANENT STATE OF THE ART HOME IN SACRAMENTO WHEREAS, Sacramento business and governmental leaders are working together to attract an NFL franchise to this area; and WHEREAS, if successful, this effort will produce a direct multi -billion dollar economic impact over the next 20 years, with cities in this area having a measurable and, in many cases, a significant share; and WHEREAS, it will make major league sports and other stadium events much more accessible to the over 5 million people living in this area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lodi does hereby urge the Raiders to return to Northern California to a permanent state of the art home in Sacramento. This great inland region can and will support the Raiders and is worthy of being the home of this unique and legendary team.
