AGENDA TITLE: Acceptance of Improvements Under Recreation Office Reception and Lobby
Remodel, 125 North Stockton Street Contract
MEETING DATE: March 19, 1997
PREPARED BY: Public Works Director
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the improvements under the "Recreation
Office Reception and Lobby Remodel, 125 North Stockton Street"
contract and direct the City Engineer to file a Notice of Completion with
the County Recorder's office.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The project was awarded to McFadden Construction, of Stockton,
on October 2, 1996, in the amount of $34,880.00. The contract
has been completed in substantial conformance with the plans and
specifications approved by the City Council.
The contract completion date was January 11, 1997, and the actual completion date was January 11, 1997.
The Parks and Recreation Department was able to move back into the office on December 6, 1996, but
McFadden Construction was issued a change order to install an additional breaker which extended the
contract completion date. The extra breaker was for the air conditioning unit and did not affect the
December 6 move back into the office. The final contract price was $36,850.78. The difference between
the contract amount and the final contract price is mainly due to additional work done to frame an opening
in a partition, add the breaker for the air conditioning unit, and prep the floor after the asbestos tiles had
been removed.
FUNDING: As determined at contract award.
