A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AUTHORIZING SMOKE-FREE CITIES MINI -GRANT APPLICATION
WHEREAS, the City of Lodi recognizes that it is in the public
interest to improve community health and livability by promoting a
responsive tobacco control policy; and
WHEREAS; funds are available from the California Department of Health
Services through tax revenues generated by the passage of Proposition 99,
to establish programs which will discourage tobacco use within cities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Lodi authorizes the submittal of an application to the Project Coordinator
of California Smoke Free Cities. The City Manager of the City of Lodi is
hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Lodi
all necessary applications, contracts, agreements and amendments to secure
grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the
application.
The foregoing resolution was passed by the City Council of the City
of Lodi this 16th day of October, 1991. Effective October 16, 1991.
I hereby certify that Resolution No. 91-186 was passed and adopted by
the Lodi City Council in a regular meeting held October 16, 1991 by the
following vote:
Ayes: Council Members - Pennino, Pinkerton, Sieglock, Snider
and Hinchman (Mayor)
Noes: Council Members - None
