A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
REDUCING THE BENEFIT PACKAGE FOR NEW MANAGEMENT,
MID -MANAGEMENT, AND CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES
TO BE EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 1994
WHEREAS, the City has been evaluating various ways to reduce
benefit costs while providing quality service and retaining competent
staff with fair and equitable wages and competitive benefits; and
WHEREAS, after reviewing areas in which we can achieve reduced
costs without sacrificing a well-trained, quality workforce, staff
recommends the reduction/elimination of benefits for new employees in
the following areas:
° Reduction in vacation accrual rates from 25 to 20 days
for service of 15 years or over.
° Elimination of sick leave conversion option.
WHEREAS, these benefit changes would not apply to any current
employee who holds or promotes into a classification designated as
management, mid -management, or confidential.
WHEREAS, less vacation time will increase work hours for
employees with over 15 years of service by up to 40 hours per year; and
WHEREAS, actual long term savings from the elimination of the
sick leave conversion option will emerge in future years.
RESOLVED, the Council hereby approves the reduction of the
Benefit Package for new Management, Mid -Management, and Confidential
Employees effective July 1, 1994.

I hereby certify that Resolution No. 94-64 was passed and adopted
by the Lodi City Council in a regular meeting held June 1, 1994, by the
following vote:
