AGENDA TITLE: Contract Award for Asphalt Materials for Fiscal Year 1998/99 ($49,710)

RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution awarding both items
of the contract for asphalt materials for fiscal year 1998/99 as follows:
Item A. 1,500 Tons/FOB Plant Granite Construction Stockton $ 40,410
Item B. 300 Tons/Stockpile City Limits F.T.G. Construction Lodi $ 9,300
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This contract provides asphalt materials for various street
maintenance projects carried on throughout the City during the
fiscal year.
Specifications for this project were approved on May 20, 1998. The City received 4 bids for the
asphalt materials as shown on the attached bid tab. This year's contract prices did not increase from last
year's prices.
FUNDING: Budgeted Fund: 1998/99 Street Maintenance Fund
Project Estimate: $62,000
Bid Opening Date: June 4, 1998

RESOLUTION NO. 98-97
A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL
AWARDING THE BID FOR ASPHALT MATERIAL FOR
FISCAL YEAR 1998/99
WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the
order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened on June 4, 1998
at 11:00 a.m. for the Asphalt Material for Fiscal Year 1998/99, described in the
specifications therefore approved by the City Council on May 20, 1998; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report
thereof filed with the City Manager marked Exhibit A attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends awarding Items A & B of the contract
for Asphalt Materials for Fiscal Year 1998/99 as shown below:
