HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 98-102RESOLUTION NO. 98-102 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION'S AGRICULTURAL LAND STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE WITH THE PREPARATIONS OF A GREENBELT OPEN SPACE POLICY WHEREAS, the Legislature has established the Agricultural Land Stewardship Program within the Department of Conservation, and through a grant program is providing assistance to conserve important agricultural land resources that are subject to conversion pressures; and WHEREAS, the City of Lodi intends to establish an Open Space/Greenbelt Policy enabling the City of Lodi to more effectively self limit growth and the urbanization of surrounding land; and - WHEREAS, in order to proceed with the processes of 1) gathering consensus within the community regarding open space, 2) identifying lands in most need of preservation, and 3) designing financing programs, the City is seeking a policy/planning grant to pay for the services to augment staff. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lodi hereby approves the filing of an application for funding from the Agricultural Land Stewardship Program.
