AGENDA TITLE: Presentation by the Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission
Regarding Honoring Teens program.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Presentation.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission, in
conjunction with the Lodi Sunrise Rotary Club and Christopher J. Olsen, American
Express Financial Advisors, is sponsoring a program entitled Honoring Teens. The Lodi
Youth Commission Leadership Committee selects one teen to be awarded Teen of the
Month from the applications submitted to the commission from the general public,
various schools, and church groups. This month's Teen of the Month is Jessalee
Blackwell from Lodi High School and the Honorary Teen of the Month is Valerie
Cacho from Lodi Academy High.

June Teen of the Month
Jessalee Blackwell is a senior at Lodi High School. Jessalee is president of the Lodi FFA.
She is involved in community projects and has a semester GPA of 4.0. She always shows
a positive attitude and can be counted on for any project. She is currently planning to
lead the FFA into FFA week and she was also involved in homecoming. She shows
animals at all the fairs and always comes out on top.
June Honorary Teen on the Month
Valerie Cacho is a 15 year old student at Lodi Academy High. Valerie is always eager to
help. She is a class officer, musically talented and is involved in community service.
