HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolutions - No. 97-127RESOLUTION NO. 97-127 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL REJECTING THE BID FOR WHITE SLOUGH WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY SLUDGE LAGOON BIOSOLID REMOVAL WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened on August 20, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. for White Slough Water Pollution Control Facility Sludge Lagoon Biosolid Removal, described in the specifications therefor approved by the City Council in August 6, 1997; and WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows: Bidder Bid Amount Engineer's Estimate $ 25,000.00 DK Environmental, Martinez $ 79,948.00 WHEREAS, this project was bid as a Public Works project per Government Code, and also required a Class A license requirement imposed by the Public Works bidding process; and WHEREAS, the sole bid received was well in excess of the project estimate; and WHEREAS, staff recommends that the bid be rejected and the work be combined with a larger project at a later date that also requires the contractor to have a Class A license, thereby saving the City a considerable amount of money. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lodi City Council that the bid from DK Environmental of Martinez, CA is hereby rejected.
