A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING
STAFF TO PURCHASE DESKTOP COMPUTERS BUDGETED
FOR 1997-1999 IN AGGREGATE AMOUNTS OF $15,000.00 OR
LESS UNDER CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL
SERVICES CALIFORNIA MULTIPLE AWARD SCHEDULE
(CMAS) CONTRACTS
WHEREAS, the California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS) program was
established to provide client agencies and local governments with an easy and
value -effective procurement option for information technology and commodity
products and services; and
WHEREAS, CMAS contracts are based on either Federal GSA Contracts
or upon a competitive bid, negotiation or assessment of contractor products and
prices; and
WHEREAS, CMAS agreements give local governments more flexibility to
select products or services according to their business needs, with
considerations for price, warranty, supplier performance and brand names; and
WHEREAS, both Micron Electronics and Dell Computers have been
awarded CMAS contracts by the California Department of General Services and
are highly rated for reliability and service by PC Magazine and both offer
attractive pricing; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lodi City Council does
hereby authorize staff to purchase desktop computers as budgeted for 1997-
1999, in aggregate amounts of $15,000.00 or less, using CMAS agreements with
either Micron Electronics or Dell Computers, without further competitive bidding
or Council approval; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that computer purchases in excess of
$15,000.00 would be submitted to the City Council for approval prior to
solicitation of bids.

I hereby certify that Resolution No. 97-108 was passed and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Lodi in a regular meeting held August 6, 1997 by
