HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - March 18, 1987 PHNOTICE OE PUPL IC H!E;RiNG BY -4F CITY COU'yCIL 0; '= z,Or 1 Or TO RECEIVE PUBLIC INPUT REGARDING MOTORIZED/POKER BOATING ON LODI LAKE WHEREAS, the Lodi Parks and Recreation Commission has taken under advisement the recommendations of the Lodi Lake Park Master Plan of 1975 and the current plan under development by Mr. Richard Bigler to eliminate motorized/power boating on Lodi Lake; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission conducted two meetings, April 7, 1987 and May 5, 1987, to hear public concern over the possible elimination of motorized/power boating on the Lake; and WHEREAS, following these meetings, Parks and Recreation Coanission took action to recommend that (I) all motorized power boating be eliminated from Lodi Lake, with the exception of sanctioned City of Lodi sponsored activities, rental boat recovery needs, and general park patrol functions; (2) that the launch ramp be kept open for public access, fcr launching motorized power crafts, which will in turn be required to go directly into the river and return by the same course to recover the craft; and (3) that there be a restriction on the types of motorized crafts that can be launched, those types being V -drives, inboards and jet boards, and all others would be approved to launch and have access to the river. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that notice is hereby given that on June 17, 1987 the City Council of the City of Lodi, at its regular meeting of that date to be held in the Council Chambers located at 221 West Pine Street, Lodi, California, will conduct a public hearing to receive public input regarding motorized/power boating on Lodi Lake. Information regarding this matter may be obtained in the office of the City Clerk at 221 West Pine Street, Lodi, falifornia, or by telephoning (209) 333-6702. All interested persons are invited to present their views. Written statements may be filed with the City Clerk at any time prior to the hearing scheduled herein and oral statements may be made at said hearing. If you challenge the above matter in court you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the Public Hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to the City Clerk at, or prior to, the Public Hearing. Reimche City Clerk NOTICE OF PUBLIC NEARING BY THE LODI CITY COUNCIL TO RECEIVE PUBLIC INPUT REGARDING MOTORIZED/POWER BOATING ON LODI LAKE The Lodi City Council at its Regular Meeting of Wednesday, June 17, 1987 will conduct a public hearing to receive public input regarding motorized/power boating on Lodi Lake. The sleeting will commence at 7:30 p.m., and will be held in the Council Chambers located at 221 Fest Pine Street, Lodi. The Parks and Recreation Commission has recommended to t`►e Council that (1) all motorized power boating be eliminated from Lodi Lake, with the exception of sanctioned City of Lodi sponsored activities, rental boat recovery needs, and general park patrol functions; (2) that the launch ramp be kept open for public access, for launching motorized power crafts which will in turn be required to o directly into the river > Y g 9 and return by the same course for craft recovery; and (3) that there be a restriction on the types of motorized crafts that can be launched, those types being V -drives, inboards and jet boards.
