COUNCIL MEETING DATE: NOVEMBER 2, 1988
INDICATED ACTION: The City Council should conduct a Public Hearing to consider
the appeal of Delta Signs and Crane Service on behalf of Harry Ilgenfritz of the
Planning Commission's denial of a Zoning Variance to reduce the required setback
for a monument sign at 1331 South Ham Lane from ten (10) feet to four (4) feet in
an area zoned R -C -P, Residential -Commercial -Professional and take the necessary
action.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The sign was erected by the sign company in the wrong
location because the plans as corrected and approved by the Community Development
Department were not on the job site. The error was discovered by a Building
Inspector using the City's copy of the approved plans.
In denying the request the Planning Commission determined that a "Zoning Hardship"

TO CONSIDER THE APPEAL OF DELTA SIGN AND CRANE SERVICE
ON BEHALF OF HARRY ILGENFRITZ OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION'S DENIAL
OF A ZONING VARIANCE TO REDUCE THE SETBACK FOR A MONUMENT SIGN
FROM 10 FEET TO 4 FEET AT 1330 SOUTH HAM LANE IN AN AREA ZONED
R -C -P, RESIDENTIAL -COMMERCIAL -PROFESSIONAL
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Wednesday, November 2, 1988 at the
hour of 7:30 pm., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, the
Lodi City Council will conduct a public hearing to consider the appeal
of Delta Sign and Crane Service on behalf of Harry Ilgenfritz of the
Planning Commission's denial of a zoning variance to reduce the setback
for a monument sign from 10 feet to 4 feet at 1330 South Ham Lane in an
area zoned R -C -P, Residential -Commercial-Professional .
Information regarding this item may be obtained in the office of the
Community Development Director at 221 West Pine Street, Lodi,
California. All interested persons are invited to present their views
and comments on this matter. Written statements may be filed with the
City Clerk at any time prior to the hearing scheduled herein and oral
statements may be made at said hearing.
If you challenge the subject matter in court you may be limited to
raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the Public
Hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered
to the City Clerk, 221 West Pine Street, Lodi, California, at or prior
to, the Public Hearing.

the Planning Commission determined that a
"Zoning
Hardship" as defined
in Section 17.72.080
of the Municipal Code
did not

Mun cipa! Code Section 17.72.110 provides as follows:
"Any applicant or person claiming to be directly and adversely affected
by any action of the Planning Commission may within five days (i.e.
working days) after the action file a written appeal with the City Clerk
for transmittal to the City Council."
Your appeal, if any, must be in writing and should be directed to Alice K
Reimche, City Clerk, Call Box 3006, Lodi, CA 95241-1910, and nR9 be
received by her by 5:00 p.m., Monday, October 3, 1988.
