A SHELTER FOR THE HOWELESS AT 19 NORTH STOCKTON STREET
MICAJED ACI10N. Conduct a public hearing and take appropriate actions on
(1) Certification of a Negative Declaration; and (2) Conditional Use Permit
BACKGROUND WFN�-� The applicants, Morris & Wenell Architects on behalf
of Fellowship Ministries, Inc. are requesting a Conditional Use Permit to convert
and rehabilitate an existing bar into a shelter for the homeless. The shelter
would provide shelter, food service and religious services.
The property is zoned C -M, Commercial -Light Industrial. The Use Pemit 1 s
required under provisions of Ordinance 1409 the Eastside Study Area Rezoning that
states "... any property zoned R -CP, C-1, C-2 or C -M in the area bounded by
Lockeford Street on the north; the north -south alley between Stockton Street and
Main Street on the east; Lodi Avenue on the south and Church Street on the west,
not containing any multiple-fam-fly units may build or convert to multiple family
pu,poses after the approval of a Conditional Use Permit by 0e C;ty Council."
Tho Conditional Use Permit and Certification of a Negative aclaration may be
considered at one public hearinq, but must be acted on separately.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT on Wednesday, May 4, 1988 at the hour of 7:30 p.m.,
or as soon thereafter as the matter nry be heard, the Lodi City Council will
conduct a public hearing to consider the request from Morris and Wenel I,
Architects on behalf of Fellowship Ministries, Inc., 222 West Lockeford Street,
Suite 9, todi, for a conditional use permit pursuant to Ordin'ance W 1409, the
conversion and rehabilitation of an existing bar into a shelter for the
homeless, which property is located at 19 North Sacramento Street, Lodi.
Information regarding this item may be obtained in the office of the Community
Development Director at 221 West Pine Street, Lodi, California. All interested
persons are invited to present their views and co,,nments on this matter.
Written statements rnay be filed with the City Clerk at any time prior to the
hearing scheduled herein and oral statements may be rmde at said hearing.
If you challenge the subject matter in court you may be limited to raising only
those issues you or someone else raised at the Public Hearing described in this
notice or in written correspondence delivered to the City C,erk, 221 West Pine
Street, Lodi, at or prior to, the Public Hearing.

prepaid thereon, containing a copy of the Notice attached hereto, marked
Exhibit "A"; said envelopes were addressed as is more particularly shown
on Exhibit "B" attached hereto.
There is a regular daily communication by mail between the City of Lodi,
California, and the places to which said envelopes were addressed.
