HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - May 7, 1997 (78)` OF LODI V COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Donation of Light Standard to Lodi Community Service Center MEETING DATE: May 7, 1997 SUBMITTED BY: Electric Utility Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the donation of a surplused, unusable light standard for use as a flag pole at the Lodi Community Service Center, 415 South Sacramento Street. BACKGROUND: Mr. Huston Green of the Lodi Community Service Center, a non-profit organization, has requested that the City donate an unusable light standard for use as a flag pole at their facility. The galvanized pole that would be donated is valued as salvage only ( approximately $40). We would suggest that the Lodi Community Service Center be required to sign an agreement stating that the pole will not be used for any purpose other than a flag pole and that any damaged area of the standard will be set below concrete. Upon approval of the City Council we will work with the City Attorney and Purchasing Officer to ensure these requirements are met.
