CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Report of the Sale of Surplus Property MEETING DATE: May 7, 1997 SUBMITTED BY: Finance Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: Information only. This report of the sale of surplus city property is made to the City Council in accordance with Lodi City Code 2.12.120. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On April 19, 1995, the City Council authorized the sale at auction of vehicles and equipment which had become surplus as a result of two years of equipment replacements. A total of twenty-eight items were authorized for disposal at the April 19 meeting. Prior to the sale, all City departments were given the opportunity to determine if they had a need for any of the items. At that time, the Fire Department selected for their use two trailer -mounted generators, both 1961 Hobart units formerly assigned to the Electric Utility Department. In March of this year, the Fire Department determined that the generators were of no further use, and released both for disposal. The two generators were sold through Roger Ernst and Associates of Modesto at auction held on March 15, 1997. Sales proceeds returned to the City totaled $1,165.50.
