BACKGROUND INFORMATION: In accordance with the rate methodology approved by the City Council in 1991, California Waste Removal Systems submitted its rate application on February 15, 1995. Basically the rates recommended by them are reductions of multi -family residential service of $1.00 per month and a reduction in commercial one -yard containers, holding fast on the single family residential customer and large commercial users, and an 18.4$ reduction for all other commercial customers. I have not had an opportunity to analyze these numbers, but should be able to do so in the next two weeks. I would like the opportunity to review this request and report back to the City Council at the meeting of March 15, 1995 so that the new rates can be implemented on April 1, 1995. Box 3006 Lodi, California 95241 *FOR REVIEW* Hand Delivered RE: California Waste Removal Systems - Rate Application Dear Mr. Glenn: California Waste Removal Systems ("CWRS"), is pleased to provide the enclosed rate adjustment application for the provision of refuse, recyclable materials, and green waste collection, processing, transfer, and disposal services. The rate application follows the procedure specified in the rate methodology approved by the City Council on December 4, 1991. As detailed in the rate application, CWRS proposes no change in single family residential rates, a new multi -family residential rate, and an adjusted commercial rate design reflecting reduced commercial rates. The proposed commercial rate design is reflective of operational efficiencies associated with commercial service.
