HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - December 17, 1997 PH (8)i CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION i AGENDA TITLE: Reset Public Hearings for January 7, 1998 MEETING DATE: December 17, 1997 SUBMITTED BY: City Clerk RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council reset the following Public Hearings for January 7, 1998: a) Public Hearing to receive a report of the cost of the abatement of weeds in the City of Lodi during 1997 and to hear any objections to the property owners liable to be assessed for the abatement. b) Public Hearing to consider the Planning Commission's recommendation that the City Council adopt the 1997 Growth Management Allocations BACKGROUND INFORMATION: At the City Council meeting of December 3, 1997, the City Council set the following items for Public Hearing on December 17, 1997: a) Public Hearing to receive a report of the cost of the abatement of weeds in the City of Lodi during 1997 and to hear any objections to the property owners liable to be assessed for the abatement. b) Public Hearing to consider the Planning Commission's recommendation that the City Council adopt the 1997 Growth Management Allocations Due to an oversight by the Lodi News Sentinel, these notices were not published. When we discovered the problem on Monday, December 8, 1997, it was too late to publish and meet the publication time frame set out by State statute. Following a meeting with the City Attorney, it was our consensus that we had no other choice but to bring these items back to the City Council to be reset.
