AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF
CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY, DESIGNATED
"FREEWAY ADDITION" TO THE CITY OF LODI
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI:
WKEREAS, on the 4th day of November, 1959, the Council of the
City of Lodi did pass and adopt Resolution No. 2273 giving notice
of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City
of Lodi, said territory being therein designated as "Freeway Addi-
tion", said Resolution describing the boundaries of the territory
proposed to be annexed; and
WKEREAS, said Resolution No. 2273 did contain a notice of the
day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City would
hear protests made by any person owning real property within the
territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being
not less than forty nor more than sixty days from the date of
passage of said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution was duly published in accordance
with law; and
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of December, 1959, at the hour of
8:OO p.m., in the Council Chambers in the City Eall of the City
of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of California, said time and
place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No.
2273 for hearing protests to the said annexation, the said City
Council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed
annexation and did determine that protests had not been made by
the owners of one-half of the value of the privately owned territory
proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment
roll, nor by public owners of one-half of the value of the publicly
owned territory proposed to be annexed as determined by said legis-
lative body; and

WHERF,AS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Lodi,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of San Joaquin;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said Council of the City of Lodi does
hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter des-
cribed to the City of Lodi, and does hereby further ordain that
the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Lodi.
That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of
Lodi is herein approved, is all that territory situate in the
County of San Joaquin, State of California, more particularly
described as follows:
A portion of the West 6 of Section 7, Township 3 North,
Range 7 East, Mount Diablo Base and fleridian, and more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of the Northwest
Quarter of Section 7, Township 3 NorCh, Range 7 East,
Mount Diablo Base and Meridian; thence Easterly along the
Quarter section line 309.62 feet to the true point of
beginning; thence continuing along the said line 120 feet
to the Southeast corner of the parcel annexed to the City
of Lodi as the "Horton Addition" by Ordinance No. 409, as
filed on June 2, 1950 in the San Joaquin County Records;
thence Northerly along the East line of the "Horton Addition",
a City boundary line, 737 feet, more or less, to the North
line of the parcel deeded to J. B. Hale and recorded in
Volume 956, Page 217, Official Records of San Joaquin
County; thence Easterly along the said North line 1,045
feet, more or less, to the East line of said parcel; thence
Southerly along said East line 734.8 feet to the Quarter-
Section line; thence Easterly along the Quarter-Section
line 868 feet, more or less, to the Northeast corner of
the Southwest Quarter of Section 7; thence Southerly along
the East line of the Southeast Quarter 668.68 feet to the
South line of the North & of the North of the Southwest
L.
Quarter; thence Westerly along the said South line
1,555.7 feet to the Northeast corner of the parcel
annexed to the City of Lodi as the "Walnut Orchard
Addition" by Ordinance No. 349, and recorded in the
San Joaquin County Records on July 17, 1947; thence
continuing Westerly along the North line of said Walnut
Orchard Addition, also a City Boundary line, 516.93
feet to a corner of the present City Limits; thence North
0' 34' West along the present City Limit line 667.5 feet
to the true point of beginning; the property thus des-
cribed containing 49.5 acres, more or less.
Reference is hereby made to a map or plat on file in the
office of the City Clerk of this City delineating the boundaries
next above described.

ance No. 663 was introduced at a regular meeting of
said City Council held December 16, 1959 and was thereafter passed,
adopted and ordered to print at a regular meeting held January 6,
1960, by the following vote:
