AN ORDINANCE APPROVING Tm A"EXATI0R
OF l'EALLENTYNE ADDITION1' TO THE CITY
OF LODI, CALIFORNIA.
THEREAS, in answer to a petition signed by the owners of not less
than one-fourth of the area and representing not less than one-fourth
of the assessed value of the territory hereinafter described, this City
council did, on the 9th day of ilpril, 1947, pass and adopt its Resolu-
tion No. 1309 declaring it to be the intention of said City Council to
annex to the City of Lodi certain uninhabited territoqy contiguous to
said City, in accordance with the proceedings had and to be had pursuant
to the provisions of the llAnnexation of Uninhabited Territory hct of 1939"
as amended, said territory for the purposes hereof to be designated for
identification as "Ballentyne Additiontt and particularly bounded and des-
cribed as hereinafter set forth, and,
'WEREAS, due publication 09 said Resolution No. 1309 was had in time,
form and manner as required by law is evidenced by affidavit on file and
of record in the office of the City Clerk of this City, and,
YHEREAS, among other things the said Resolution No. 1309 gave public
notice that owners of real property affected by said annexation might file
written protests against said annexation up to the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M.
of Vednesday, May 7, 1947 with this City Council, which protests wnuld be
received and considered at said day and hour in the City Council Chambers,
City Hall, Lodi, California, and,
WHEF3AS, at that place and on that day and hour this City Council
did in open regular meeting declare that it was then ready to receive
and hear any and all protests or objections against the annexation of said
territory of the City of Lodi and no protests either written or oral were
presented, and, by reason that no protests were received, this City
Council did then and there acquire jurisdiction to annex said territory
to the City of Lodi, now therefore,
The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows:
Section 1. The annexation of the following described uninhabited
territory contiguous to said City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin, State of
Californis is hereby approved and is hereby declared to be annexed to and
made a part of said City, to-wit:
Cornqencing on the section corner common to Sections 35 and 36
Township 4 North, Range 6 East and Sections 1 and 2, Township 3
North, Range 6 East, M.D.B. & ki, thence East along the township
line 594.4 feet to the property corner common to the lands of
Louis Sanguinetti and Leland A. Cook, thence N 1' 30' '# 30 feet
to the north line of Sioodbridge (Turner) Road, to a point, which
point is on the north boundary line of the City of Lodi and is the
true point of beginning of the property herein proposed for annexa-
tion, thence continuing N 1' 30' 1 along the common property line
of said Sanguinetti and Cook, 1058 feet, thence 'fest 32 feet to
the south bank of the Mokelumne River, thence meandering along the
south bank of said river in a general :;esterlp direction, down
strezm to the point of intersection of the same with the west line
of Porth California Street projected northerly, thence S 0' 20' E
1851 fcet along said northerly projection to its intersection with
on the present north boundary line of the City of Lodi, thence East-
erly on and along said boundary line to the point of beginning.
Section 2.
shall make, certify and transmit a certified copy hereof to the Sec-
retary of State of the State of Czlifornia, giving the date of its
passage, adoption and approval and he shall also comply with such
other statutes as may be applicable hereto.

certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 347 was regularly
introduced and read at an adjourned regular meeting of the
City Council of said City held May 7, 1947 and was thereafter
passed, adopted and ordered to print in regular meeting of said
City Council held on the 14th day of May, 1947, by the follow-
ing vote:

1 further certify that the said ordinance was approved and signed
by the Mayor on the date of its final passage and adoption. Also,
