WHEHXAS, The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi did,
on the 24th day of June, A. B. 1918, adopt its Resolution of fnten-
tion No. 17, to modify, establish and re-establish the grades of cer-
tain streets and avenues in said City, and to fix curb lines on cer-
tain streets and avenues in said city, a.s more particularly set forth
in said Resolution of Intention No. 17; and,
WHEHEAS, Said Resolution of Intention was published in
"The Lodi Sentinel, )I a tri-weekly newspaper, published and circulated
in the said City of Lodi, for two weeks, and was posted by the City
Clerk for two days conspicuously on or near the Council Chamber Door of said Board of Trustees, all as required by law; and,
P-S, The Superintendent of Streets did issue his
"Notice of Change of Grade" dated July 9th, 1918, and posted the same
conspicuously on and along the streets and avenues designated in said
Resolution of Intention No. 17, which said notice was headed IINotice
of Change of Grade," in letters not less than one inch in height, and
was published in the afore-said, "The Lodi Sentinel," for two weeks,
and that he posted not less than Wkee notices in all, and said noti ices were not more than one hundred feet apart, all as required by
law: and,

as hereinafter fixed and specified, with the hereinafter mentioned lines of intersebting streets, the curb grade and elevation are here-
by established as follows:

(5-10) of one foot below the curb grade and eleyation severally and res-
pec tively specified as above.
On Locust Street from the East line of Hutchins Street
to the Eastern limits of said City, being the West line of Cherokee lane,
at the respective points of interesection of the Northern and Southern
curb lines of Locust Street, as hereinafter fixed and specified, with the
hereinafter mentioned lines of intersecting streets, and at the intenned-

Section 2. Curb lines are hereby fixed and established
as hereinafter set forth, and the elevations and grades above spec-
ified have reference to the elevation8 and grade of curbs, upon the

the easterly and westerly division lines between said street and
the respective blocks or lots abutting thereon.

said street and the respective blocks or lots abutting thereon.

shall be distant respectively ten feet from the northerly and south-

Section 3. A curb return ia hereby dbfined to be that
portion of a curb which atends around a street corner and connects
the curb on one street with the neaxest adjacent curb in an inter-
secting street. Where an elevation is established as above a.t the intersection of the curb line with a street line, being one end of
such a curb return, such eleva,tion shall be the elevation for the
other end of the curb return at the intersection of the side line of
the street with the curb line of the intersecting street, and such
elevation shall also prevail throughout the curb return.
Section 4. Gutters shall be adjacent to and on the road-
way side of the curb, excepting across alleys, where they will be pro-
duced across the alleys.
Section 5. All Ordinances, or parts of Ordinances, in
conflict with the provisions herein are hereby xepealed.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall be published in "The
Lodi Sentinel, a tri-weekly newspaper published and circulated in
said City of Lodi, and shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and publication.
