Service to each of two or dore separate areas, but not in the same building, and which do not overlap within the same premises may be individually mete red. (a) RATE Per Meter Per Month Energy Charge: First 6, 000 kwhr, per kwhr ........... $0. 02375 For all excess over 6, 000 kwhr per month: First 50 kwhr per kw of billing demand, Next 150 kwhr per kw of billing demand: per kwhr.. ....................... 0. 02 First 100, 000 kwhr, per kwhr. ..... 0. 0115 Balance, per kwhr.. .............. 0. 0081 Next 100 kwhr per kw of billing demand, per kwhr.. ......................... 0. 0081 All excess, per kwhr. ................. 0. 0057 Minimum Charge, per month: $142. 50 but not less than 80t per kw of billing demand -1- (b) SPECIAL CONDITIONS (i) MAXIMUM DEMAND: The maximum demand in any month will be the maximum average power taken during any 15-minute interval in the month. However, when the recorded monthly maximum demand has exceeded 400 kw for three consecutive months and thereafter until it has fallen below 300 kw for twelve consecutive months, a 30-minute interval will be used; provided, that in cases where the use of energy is intermittent or subject to violent fluctuations, a 5-minute interval may be used. time interval may be used. A thermal type of demand meter which does not reset after a definite (ii) BILLING DEMAND: The billing demand to be used in computing charges under the above schedule will be the mean actual maximum demand as determined under (i) for the current month and the highest such demand occurring in the year ending with the current of the month. (iii) VOLTAGE: Service on this schedule will be supplied at the secondary voltage available or, at the option of the customer, at the primary voltage available. phase power is to be combined with single-phase, a 4-wire service will be supplied. Where secondary voltage is desired and poly- (iv) PRIMARY VOLTAGE DISCOUNT: When delivery here- under is made at the same voltage as that of the line from which the service is supplied, a discount of 3% will be allowed, provided, however, the City is not required to supply service at a particular line voltage where it has (or will install) ample facilities for supplying at another voltage equally or better suited to the customer's electrical requirements. The City of Lodi retains the right to change its line voltage at any time, after reasonable advance notice to any customer receiving a discount hereunder and affected by such change, and such customer then has the option to change his system -2- so as to receive service at the new line voltage or to accept service (without voltage discount) through transformers to be supplied by the City of Lodi. (v) POWER FACTOR: When the billing demand has exceeded 400 kw for three consecutive months and thereafter until it has fallen below 300 kw for twelve consecutive months, bills will be adjusted for weighted monthly average power factor as follows: The total charge (except the minimum charge) for any month as computed on the above rates will be decreased or increased, respectively, by .Ol% for each 1% that the average power factor of customer's load in that month was greater or less than 85%, such average power factor to be computed (to the nearest whole per cent) from the ratio of lagging kilovolt- ampere-hours to kilowatt-hours consumed in the month, provided, however, that no power factor correction will be made for any month when customer's maximum demand was less than 10% of the highest such demand in the pre- ceding eleven months. Section 2. Section 9 of Ordinance No. 781 of the City of Lodi is hereby repealed and a new Section 9 is hereby enacted to read in full as follows : Section 9. SCHEDULE S-I1 - GENERAL SERVICE - DEMAND METERED - DEMAND OF 1,000 KW OR MORE is applicable to polyphase alternating current service provided all power service to any customer on the same premises shall be supplied through one meter. Service to each of two or more separate areas, but not in the same building, and which do not overlap within the same premises may be individually metered. (a) RATE Demand Charge: Per Meter Per Month First 1,000 kw of billing demand.. . . . . . . $1,500.00 1. 00 .95 Nlext 2, 500 kw of billing demand per kw.. Over 3,500 kw of billing demand per kw.. -3- Energy Charge (in addition to the Demand Charge): First 100 kwhr per kw of billing demand, per kwhr .......................... All excess, per kwhr.. ................ . 0115 . 0070 . 0061 . 0052 Minimum Charge: The Demand Charge constitutes the minimum monthly charge (b) SPECIAL CONDITIONS (i) MAXIMUM DEMAND: The maximum demand in any month will be the maximum average power taken during any 30-minute interval in the month, provided, that in cases where the use of energy is intermittent or subject to violent fluctuations, either a 5-minute or a 15-minute interval may be used. (ii) BILLING DEMAND: The billing demand to be used in computing charges will be the mean of the actual maximum demand as de- termined under Special Condition (i) above for the current month and the highest such demand occurring in the year ending with the current month, but not less than 1, 000 kw. (iii) OFF-PEAK DEMAND: Any customer may, upon request, for billing purposes, have maximum demands ignored which occur between 10: 3 0 P. M. and 6: 3 0 A. The City retains the right to change its line voltage at any time, after reasonable advance notice to any customer receiving a discount hereunder When service is supplied directly without transformation and affected by such change, and such customer then has the option to change his system so as to receive service at the new line voltage or to accept service (without voltage discount) through transformers to be supplied by the City of Lodi. (v) POWER FACTOR: The total charge (except the minimum charge) for any month as computed on the above rates will be decreased or increased, respectively, by 0. 1% for each 1% that the average power factor of customer's load in the month was greater or less than 85%, such average power factor to be computed (to the nearest whole percent) from the ratio of lagging kilovolt ampere hours to kilowatt hours consumed in the month.
