HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - No. 985ORDINANCE NO. 985 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 27 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF LODI THEREBY PERMITTING 24-HOUR FOSTER CARE HOMES AND FAMILY DAY CARE HOMES AS DEFINED BY THE SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF ASSISTANCE IN THE R-1, R-2 .AND R-LD DISTRICTS. The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows: Section 1. Chapter 27-5(a) of the Code of the City of Lodi is hereby amended by the addition of the following: 4. The following uses subject to the approval of the Planning Department: fi) Family Care Homes - Children. Family homes, non- institutional in character, which provide day care only with or without compensation for: a. Not more than five children, including the family day care mother's own children, when the age range is infancy through six. b. Not more than six children, when the age range is three through eighteen including the family day care mother's own children. (ii) 24-Hour Foster Care Homes. A family home, non-institutional in character, which provides 24-hour care, with or without compensation, for not more than six children under eighteen years of age, including children of the foster family under eighteen years. Section 2. Chapter 27-6A(b) of the Code of the City of Lodi is hereby amended by the addition of the following: 4. The following uses subject to the approval of the P tanning Department: -1- (i) Family Care Homes - Childpen. Family homes, non-institutional in character, which provide day care only with or without compensation for: a. Not more than five children, including the family day care mother's own children, when the age range is infancy through six. b. Not more than six children, when the age range is three through eighteen including the family day care mother's own children. (ii) 24-Hour Foster Care Homes. A family home, non- institutional in character, which provides 24-hour care, with or without compensation, for not more than six children under eighteen years of age, including children of the foster family under eighteen years. Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed insofar as such conflict may exist. Section 4. This ordinance shall be published one time in the "Lodi News-Sentinel, I' a daily newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Lodi, and shall be in force and take effect thirty days from and after its passage and approval.
