ORDINANCE NO. 984
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING, SECTION 27- 15(~) OF T
CODE OF THE CITY OF LODI ENTITLED, "ADJUST S
AND USE PERMITS, I' AND THEREBY PROVIDING FO
ISSUANCE AND TIME LIMITS ON USE PERMITS.

Section 1.
City of Lodi does ordain as follows:
Chapter 27-15(c) of the Code of the
hereby amended by readopting paragraph one and adding, a new paragraph two;
said paragraphs to read in
(c) Use Permits.
1. Issuance. Use permits may be issued for
purposes for which such use pe
the provisions of this chapter, and for any of t
uses in any district established by this chapte.r:
(i) To classify as a conforming use any institutional use
existing at the time of the adoption of this chapter.
(ii) To permit the location of any of thcfoll '

determined that the public health, safety, or general
welfare will no$ be adversely affected: Airport, cemetery,
crematory, mausol'eum, and any other place for the
disposal of the dea
(iii) .A temporary building for commerce or industry in a
dwelling district for a period of not more than one year

the district.

2. Expiration.
a. Use permits shall expire 18 months after their date of
issuance unless a building permit has been obtained and
work has commenced in good faith.
b. In the case of multi-phased developments, such as churches
and hospitals, the use permit shall be considered in full
force and effect if the first phase of development began
before the expiration of eighteen (18) months and future phases
will be completed in a reasonable length of time.
c. On use permits heretofore issued, the 18-month period shall
commence as of the effective date of this Ordinance.
d. The Planning Commission and/or City Council may grant
an extension beyond the 18-month period if good cause for
the extension is shown.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be published one time in the "Lodi
News-Sentinel, " a daily newspaper of general circulation printed and published
in the City of Lodi and shall be in force and take effect thirty days from and
after its passage and approval.

SCHAFFER and EHRHARDT
Noes: Councilmen - None
Absent: Councilmen- None
