AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER THREE OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF LODI THEREBY ADDING SECTION
3- 30 ENTITLED, "POLICE DOGS - - INTERFERENCE WITH:
MISTREATMENT OF. 'I
The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows:
Section 1. Chapter 3 of the Code of the City of Lodi is hereby
amended to add Section 3-30 to read in full as follows:
SECTION 3-30.
MISTREATMENT OF.
POLICE DOGS -- INTERFERENCE WITH:
No person shall willfully or maliciously torture, torment,
beat, kick, strike, mutilate, injure, disable, or kill any
dog used by the Police Department of the City of Lodi in
the performance of the functions or duties of such Department,.
or interfere with or meddle with any such dog while being used
by said Department or any member thereof in the performance
of any of the functions or duties of said Department or of such
officer or member.
Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are repealed insofar as such conflict may exist.
. Section~3. This ordinance shall be published one time in the "Lodi
News -Sentinel, a daily newspaper of general circulatinn printed and published

was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held April 21, 1971
and was thereafter passed, adopted and ordered to print at a regular meeting
held May 5, 1971 by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen - EHRHARDT, HUGHES, KIRSTEN,
SCHAFFER and KATNICH
Noes: Councilmen - None
Absent: Councilmen - None
I further certify that Ordinance No. 949 was approved and
signed by the Mayor on the date of its passage and the same has
been published pursuant to law.
