AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 27-131a) OF THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF LODI AND THEREBY REQUIRING A USE
PERMIT FOR THE OPERATION OF AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE
STAT IONS
' The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows:
Section 1. Subsection (a) of Section 27-13 of the Code of the City
of Lodi is hereby amended to read in full as follows:
(a) Uses
1. Automobile service stations shall be permitted in the
C-S, C-1, C-2, C-M, M-1 and M-2 districts after first securing a use
permit from the Planning Commission.
2. The following accessory uses, in addition to those uses
hereinbefore specified, shall be permitted in any R District; provided, that
such accessory uses do not alter the character of the premises with respect
to their uses for the purposes permitted in such respective districts:
(i) The renting of rooms or the providing of table board
in a dwelling, but not to the extent of constituting a hotel, unless permitted
in the district.
(ii) The operation of necessary facilities and equipment
in connection with schools, colleges, hospitals and other institutions
permitted in the respective districts.
(iii) Recreation, refreshment and service buildings in
public parks and playgrounds.

(iv) Chicken hens, pigeons, rabbits, guinea pigs or
similar animals not exceeding twelve in number on any lot of less than
one-half acre in area may be kept in any R District purely for home
consumption and not for commercial purposes, subject to the provisions
of other laws or ordinances.

certify that Ordinance No. 926 was introduced at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Lodi held March 4, 1970, and was thereafter passed,
adopted and ordered to print at a regular meeting held March 18, 1970, by the
following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen - BROWN, CULBERTSON, HUNNELL & KIRSTEN
Noes: Councilmen - None Absent: Councilmen - WHAFFER
