AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LODI AMENDmG
SECTION 5 OF ORDINANCE NO. 856 ENTITLED, "AN
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LODI IMPOSING A
DOGUMENTARY STAMP TAX ON THE SALE OF dEAL
PROPERTY. 'I
The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as1 follows:
Section 1. Section 5 of Ordinance No. 856 is hereuy amended to
read in full as follows:
"Section 5. Any deed, instrument or writing to whlich the United
States or any agency or instrumentality thereof, any State or territory,
or political subdivision thereof, is a party shall be eldempt from any
tax imposed pursuant to this ordinance when the exemDt agency is
acquiring title. "
Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances !in conflict
herewith are repealed insofar as such conflict may exist.
Section 3. This ordinance shall he published one time in the "Lodi
News-Sentinel, 'I a daily newspaper of general circulation, 'printed and
published in the City of Lodi, and shall be in force and takeieffect thirty
days from and after its passage and approval.

certify that Ordinance No. 919 was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Lodi held January 7, 1970, land was
thereafter passed, adopted and ordered to print at a regular meeting
of said Council held January 21, 1970, by the following vOte:
Ayes: Councilmen - BROWN, CULBER TSON, WUNNELL,
SCHAFFER and KIRSTEN
Noes: Councilmen - None
Absent: Councilmen - None
City Clerk
I further certify that Ordrnance No. 919 was approved and
signed by the Mayor on the date of its passage and the same has been
published pursuant to law.
