HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - No. 898I ORDINANCE NO. 898 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 14-21.1 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF LODI ENTITLED, "DECREASING STATE SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN STREETS,'' AND REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH AND THEREBY ESTABLISHING THE SPEED LIMIT ONCHEROKEELANE. The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows: Section 1. Ordinance No. 773 of the City of Lodi is hereby repealed. Section 2. Chapter 14,21.1 of the Code of the City of Lodi is hereby amended to read in full as follows: "It is hereby determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that the speed permitted by state law upon the following streets is more than is necessary for safe operation of J. . _- -, vehicles thereon, and it is hereby declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as hereinafter set forth on those streets or parts of streets herein designated when signs are erected giving notice thereof: "a. Calaveras Street, from Lockeford Street to Murray Street, twenty-five miles per hour. "b, Lockeford Street, from Stockton Street to Cherokee Lane, thirty-five miles per hour. "c. Turner Road, from six hundred fifty feet west of Ham Lane to Church Street, thirty-five miles per hour. I'd. Turner Road, from seven hundred feet west of Mills Avenue to six hundred fifty feet west of Ham Lane, twenty-five miles per hour. "e. West Lodi Avenue, from Ham Lane to City limits, thirty-five miles per hour. -1- "f. Cherokee Lane, from Pioneer Drive to Poplar Street, thirty-five miles per hour. "g. Cherokee Lane, from Poplar Street to Almond Drive, forty-five miles per hour. I' Section 3. This ordinance shall be published one time in the "Lodi News-Sentinel, " a daily newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Lodi and shall be in force and take effect thirty da I, Bessie L.
