HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - No. 836OtiDIi\IAlYCB NG. 836 AN OitDIlmiiCE APPROVING THE AiTiiEXLTIGi'l OF CERTAId UNIIMABITEL) TERRITORY, DESIGZ?ATEd WORTH GEIQMAL PAILLS ADDITION,*t TO THE CITY OF LODI- THE COUNCIL OF THE; CITY OF Loo1 DOBS OWAIN AS FOLLOWS: WEREAS, on the 15th day of Februaxy, 1947, the Council of the City of Lodi did pass and adopt Resolution ilo. 3029 giving notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to the City of Lodi, said territory being therein designated as Worth General ltiills Addition," said Resolution describing the boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed; and WHERFAS, said Resolution No. 3029 did contain a notice of the day, hour and place when and where the Coiincil of the City would hear protests made by any person owning real property within the territory proposed to be annexed, the tine of said heaxing being not less than forty nor more than sixty days from the date of passage-of said Resolution; and WHEREAS, said Resolution was duly published in accordance dth 1SWj and WHEREAS, on the 5th day of April, 1967, at the hour of 8:OO pornr, in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of todi, County of $an Joaquin, State of California, said tine and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No, 3029 for heaxing protests to the said annexation, the said City Council did hear and pass upon all protests made to the proposed annexation and did determine that protests had not been made by the owners of one-half of the value of the privately owned territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll, nor by public owners of one-half of the value of the publicly owned territory proposed to be annexed a5 determined by said legislative body; and WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Udi, and is PIOW, 'IHEREFORB, the said Council of the City of Lodi does hereby uninhabited territory in the County of San joaquin. approve the annexation of the territory hereinafter described to the City of Lodi, and does hereby further ordain that the said territory be and is hereby annexed to the City of Lodi. herein approved, is all that territory situate in the County of san Joaquin, State of California, more particularly described as follows: That said territory, the annexation of which to the City of Lodi is A portion of the Southeast Quarter of Section 34, Township 4 North, Range 6 Bast, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian, and more particularly described as follows: Beginnin3 a- a point on the South line of aid Section 34, said point bearing 1909.4 feet East from the Southwest corner of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 34, said point also being a corner on the existing City Limits line; thence West along the South line of said Section 34, being along said exlsting City Limits line, a distance of 709.36 feet, more or less, to the southerly extension of the West right of way lisle of (40 foot wide) County Road to Woodbridge (Nain Street), said County Road is shown on map of survey, filed for record in Book of Surveys, Volume 5, page 186, San Joa uin County Records; thence leaving said City Limits line, right of way line of said County Road 1339.25 feet, more or less, to the North line of the Southeast Guarter of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 34; thence North 8Q0 43' East along said North line of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 34 a distance o€ 40.34 feet, more or less, to the East right of way of said County Road, said pint being also a corner of the existing City Liinits as established by the parcel annexed to the City of Lodi 2s the ftSmith Lands Annexation," described in resolution of the Board of Supervisors of San Joaquin County adopted April 14, 1958; thence South 7' 129 West along said City Limits line, being also the East right of way line of said County Road, 20 feet; thence North 89O 43' East, along said existing City Limits line 86.63 feet, more or less to the Rortheasterly line of the Southern Pacific Company railroad 60 feet wide right of way; thence Southeasterly along said Northeasterly railroad right of way line, being also an existing City Limits line, to the Northernmost line of the parcel of land annexed to the City of Lodi as the "General Mills Addition," described in City of todi Ordinance No. 578; thence West along said Northernmost line to the Southwesterly line of said railroad right of way, being also an existing City Limits line; thence continuing along said City Limits line, Southerly 464 feet, more or less, to the pint of beginning; the area thus described containing 14 acres, moxe or less.
