HomeMy WebLinkAboutAgenda Report - June 18, 1997 (100)Vim+ Of (Q� CITY OF LODI COUNCIL COMMUNICATION AGENDA TITLE: Purchase of Computerized Irrigation Software (Maxicom) ($8,076.87) MEETING DATE: June 18, 1997 PREPARED BY: Parks and Recreation Director RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt the attached resolution for the purchase of Rainbird Maxicom computerized irrigation software for the parks system. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Dwight Dauber, Parks Superintendent, presented the Rainbird Maxicom computerized irrigation system to City Council in October 1996. With Council approval, staff began moving forward to implement this system in the parks. Maxicom irrigation components have been purchased and installed at Peterson Park (includes a weather station) and Legion Park. Upcoming parks to be added to the system include Van Buskirk, Lodi Lake Park (north and south sides), and five other sites in 1997198. The software is the last component needed to begin using the system. It is estimated that the system will be in use at Peterson and Legion parks within three months. DIXON FLYr City Manager tJ recycled paper cc.t RESOLUTION NO. 97-76 A RESOLUTION OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF COMPUTERIZED IRRIGATION SOFTWARE WHEREAS, Lodi Municipal Code, §3.20.070, authorizes dispensing with bids for purchases of supplies, services or equipment when it is in the best interests of the City to do so; and WHEREAS, In October 1996, a presentation of the Rainbird Maxicom Computerized Irrigation System was made to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council authorized staff to move forward in implementing this system in the parks; and WHEREAS, Maxicom Irrigation Components have been purchased and installed at Peterson Park, which includes a weather station, and Legion Park; and WHEREAS, Van Buskirk Park, Lodi Lake Park (north and south sides) and five other park sites will be added in the fiscal year 1997198; and WHEREAS, the software is the last component needed to begin using the system; and WHEREAS, it is staff recommendation that the City purchase the Rainbird Maxicom computerized irrigation software for the park system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lodi does hereby approve the purchase of the Rainbird Maxicom Computerized Irrigation System in the amount of $8,076.87.
