APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF THE COK ADDITION
TO THl3 CITY OF LODI AND DliCLARING THAT THK SAME IS ANNEXED TO AND MADK PART OF THK CITY OF LODI
WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of San Joaquin County
did on the 12th day of January, 1959 approve the boundary line
description of the hereinafter described territory, proposed
for annexation to the City of Lodi, as to definiteness and
certainty, and
WHKFi&AS, on the 21st day of January, 1959, the City Council
of the City of Lodi did initiate proceedings and declare its
intention to annex to said City the hereinafter described unin-
habited territory, thereupon Resolution No. 2193, giving notice
of the proposed annexation and of the time and place for the
hearing of protests against such annexation, was adopted by
said City Council, such hearing to be held in the City Council
Chambers, City Hall, Lodi, California, beginning at 8:OO o'clock
p.m. of Wednesday, March 4, 1959, and
WHEBEAS, subsequent to the adoption of said Resolution
No. 2193, conforming therewith and with the provisions of the
"Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939", notice was
given owners of property within the territory proposed for annexa-
tion by publication of said Resolution No. 2193 in a newspaper
of general circulation printed and published in the City of Lodi
as is evidenced by affidavit thereof on file and of record in
the office of the City Clerk of the City of Lodi, said publica-
tion being completed more than twenty days prior to the date
set in Resolution No. 2193, and
WRLiAS, on the 4th day of March, 1959 at the hour of 8:OO
o'clock p.m. of said day, in the City Council Chambers, City
Hall, Lodi, California, pursuant to resolution and notice afore-
said, the City Council of the City of Lodi did hold and conduct

a public hearing for the hearing of protests or objections
against the annexation of said territory to the City of Lodi,
and said protests being heard, considered and passed upon by
said City Council, and found to have been made by owners of
less than one-half of the assessed value of the territory pro-
posed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment
roll of San Joaquin County, California, now therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI DO&S ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The annexation of the following described unin-
habited territory in San Joaquin County, contiguous to the City
of Lodi, designated "Coe Addition" is hereby approved and the
same is hereby declared to be annexed to and made part of the
City of Lodi:
A portion of the Southwest quarter of Section 36,
Township 4 North,Range 6 bast, Mount Diablo Base and
Meridian, San Joaquin County, and being more particularly
described as follows:
Commencing at an axle marking the Southwest cor-
ner of said quarter section as indicated on a Map of
Survey filed for record April 2, 1951 in Volume 8, page
155, Record of Surveys, San Joaquin County Records;
thence North 89' 57' East along the South'line of said
quarter section, which line is also the center line of
Turner Road, 577.2 feet to a point; thence North 1'
23' West, 30 feet to a point on the North line of Tur-
ner Road, which point is the true point of beginning;
thence North 1' 23' West along a line, also a boundary
line of the City of Lodi, construed as the East line
of that certain 3.23 acre parcel filed for record
.
March 31, 1953 in Volume 1508 of Official Records,
page 518, San Joaquin County Records, 100 feet;

thence North 8qP 57' East and parallel to the said
South line, 70 feet; thence South lo 23' East, 100
feet to a point on the North line of Turner Road;
thence South 89' 57' West, 70 feet along the North
line of Turner Road, also a City boundary line, to
the point of beginning; the described parcel con-
taining 0.16 acre, more or less.
Reference is hereby made to a map or plat on file in the
office of the City Clerk of this City fielineating the boundaries
next above described.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be published one time in
the "Lodi News-Sentineln, a daily newspaper of general circula-
tion printed and published in the City of Lodi and shall be in
force and take effect thirty days from and after its passage.
Section 3. Upon the effective date of this ordinance, the
City Clerk shall immediately prepare under seal a certified copy
of the ordinance, giving the date of its passage, and transmit
it to the Secretary of State. She shall also comply with the
provisions of such statutes as may be applicable hereto to effect
the purposes hereof.

and ex officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that Ordinance No. 638 was introduced at a regular
meeting of said City Council held March 4, 1959, and was
thereafter passed, adopted and ordered to print at a regular
meeting held March 18, ,1959, by the following vote:
AYES : Councilmen - Brown, Culbertson, Mitchell,
Robinson and Katzakian
NOES : Councilmen - None
ABSENT: Councilmen - None
