AN ORDINANCE AMKNDING SUBSECTION NO. 11 OF SECTION 12.2 OF ORDINANCS NO. 469 (ZONING ORDINANCE) BY
bLIMINATION OF OFF-STmET PARKING WQUIRKMKNTS FOR
COMWRCIAL BUILDINGS IN OFFICIALLY XSTABLISHED PARK-
ING DISTRICTS.
The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Subsection 11 of Section 12.2 of Ordinance No.
469 is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 12.2 (11) Commercial Buildings: All buildings
for retail commercial purposes , excepting grocery stores , shall
provide at least one (1) parking space for each 500 square feet,
which space shall be on the same lot or within 500 feet thereof.
Grocery stores shall provide at least one (1) parking space for
each 250 square feet, which space shall be on the same lot or
within 500 feet thereof. In addition, each building shall provide
a loading area or areas sufficient for its purpose, completely
off-street. Provided, however, that the provisions of this para-
graph shall not apply to any commercial buildings located within
the area of an officially established and functioning parking
district formed under the laws of the State of California.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published one time in
the “Lodi News-Sentinel”, a daily newspaper of general circulation
printed and published in the City of Lodi and shall be in force and
effect thirty days from and after its passage.

in regular meeting of said City Council held August 6, 1958,
and was thereafter passed, adopted and ordered to print at
a regular meeting of the City Council held August 20, 1958,
by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen - Brown, Culbertson, Mitchell,
NOES: Councilmen - None
ABSKNT: Councilmen - None
I further certify that Ordinance No. 623 was approved
and signed by the Mayor on the date of its passage and has
been published pursuant to law.
