HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - No. 621In the City Council City of Lodi Lodi, California ORDINANCE NO. 621 APPROVING THE ANNBXATION OF THS BECKER ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LODI AND DECLARING THAT THE SAME IS ANIiEXD TO AND MADE PART OF THE CITY OF LODI WHEREASl the Boundary Commission of San Joaquin County did on the 21st day of April, 1958, approve the boundary line description of the hereinafter described territory, proposed for annexation to the City of Lodi, as to definiteness and c'ertainty, and WHEREAS, on the 7th day of Nay, 1958, the City Council of the City of Lodi did initiate proceedings and declare its intention to annex to said Citjr the hereinafter described uninhabited territory, Thereupon Resolution 30. 2120, giving notice of the proposed annexa- tion and of the time and place for the hearing of protests against such annexation, was adopted by said City Council, such hearing to be held in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Lodi, California, beginning at 8:OO o'clock p.m. of Wednesday, June 18, 1958, and WHEREAS, subsequent to the adoption of said Sesolution No. 2120, conforming therewith and with the provisions of the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939", notice was given owners of property within the territory proposed for annexation by publication of said Iiesolution jro. 2120 in a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Lodi as is evidenced by affi- davit thereof on file and of record in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Lodi, said publication being completed more than twenty days prior to the date of hearing set in Resolution i?o. 2120, and WHEREAS, on the 18th day of June, 1958, at the hour of 8:OO o'clock p.m. of said day, in the City Council Chambers, City Ball, Lodi, California, pursuant to resolution and notice aforesaid, the City Council of the City of Lodi did hold and conduct a public hearing for the hearing of protests or objections against the annexation of said territory to the City of Lodi, and said protests being heard, considered and passed upon by said City Council, and found to have been made by owners of less than one-half of the assessed value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll of San Joaquin County, California, now theref ore - 1- THE CITY COUNCIL OF THT CITY OF LODI DOES OBDAIB AS FOLLOWS$ Seotion I. The annexation of the following described unin- habited territory in San Joaquin County, contiguous to the City of Ladi, designated "6ecker Addition" -is hereby approved and the same is hereby declared to be annexed to and made part of the City of Lodi 8 A portion of the Southwest Quarter of the .iorthwest Quarter of Section 2, Township 3 LCorth, ?ange 6 East, Mount Diablo Base and lieridian, and more particularly described as follows: I I Beginning at a point on the west fine of Lot 26, 1 Gerard Tract, as filed for record August 8, 1916 in I Volume 8, page 62, Book of Maps and Plats, San Joaquin I County Iiecords, which point is 12 feet south of the I Southwest corner of Lot 19, Gerard Tract., and which point I of Lodi; thence northerly along the West line of said I I is also B corner of the present boundary of the City Lots 26 and 19, 208.83 feet to the Horthtrest corner of Lot 19; thence easterly 621.9 feet aloiig the north line of Lot 19 to the west line of Lorna Drive, previously known as Lockeford Avenue; thence Southerly along the west line of Ltoma Drive 208.83 feet to a point 12 feet south of the south line of Lot 19; thence westerly along a line 12 feet south of and parallel to the south line of aaid Lot 19, which line is also a City boundary, 623.8 feet to the point of beginning; containing 2.97 acres, more or less. I I Reference is hereby made to a map or plat on file in the office of the City Clerk of this City delineatine the boundaries next above described. Section 2, This ordinance shall be published one time in the "Lodi Hews-Sentineltt, a daily newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Lodi and shall be in force and take effect thirty days from and after its passage. Seotion 3. Upon the effective date of this ordinance, the City Clerk shall immediately prepare under seal a certified copy to the Secretary of State.
