ESING OF DOORS AND EXITS, AND THE OBSTRUCTING OF

SEC. 1. All theaters, opera houses, school houses,
churches, and public halls, now constructed or hereafter to be
constructed in the City of Lodi , shall be provided with at
least two means of exit from the assembly hall to the sidewalk,
or open passage-may to the street, one of which may be a fire
escape.

SEC. 6. No aisle or passage-aay of any theater, opera
house, or public hall having a seating capacity of one hundred
persons or more, shall be less thm three feet wide at the
narrowest point, znd shall increase in width towards, md to
the point of exit at least one inch for every five running feet;
provided, that aisles or passage-ways five feet or over in
width niay be uniforui throughout their entire length.
SEC. 7. It shall be unlawful for any person to obstruct
my aisle, passage-way, corroder, stairmy or exit of any theater
opera house, public hall, school house, or other place vherein
there is a public ghthering in said City, by etading in or
occupying said aisles, pa.ssage-ways, corroders, or stairways,
watory to or during any perf ormancs , entsrtainment, lecture ,
exhibition, concert., ball, or public gzthering, or by placing
therein my sofa, stool, chairs, settee, or other obstruction
or impediment to passage; provided 42iz.t riothirlg in this section
shall be construed to apply to ushers in the regular performance
of their duties, or to persons using said aisles, passzge-mys,
corridors, or atairmys in the usual manner while msembling
or leaving such place.
SEC. 8. It shell be unlawful for any omner, mznager,
agent, officer, employee, servmt, or other person in charge of
any- thectter, opera house, public hall, church, school house,
aesernbly hall, or place wherein there is a public gathering,in
said city,, to permit mly door to be locked or fastened irnrnediatel;
befbre , during, or immediately after any performance , entertsin-
ment, lecture, eThibition, concert, ball, service, session or
public gafhhering.
SEC. 9. Any viblatiorz of this ordinvlce by my fima,
corporation, officer, omner, Ypanager, lessee, ageat, employee,
servmt, or person, is hereby declared to be a misdemeanor and
shall be punish8ble by a fine not exceeding $~oo.Qo.. . . . .or by

. SEC,. .lo. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an ordinance
for the irnmedlate preservation of the public peace,health arid Safety
and shall take effect imriiediately after its passage,approVal arid
publicat ion.
SEC.11.- The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and aBproval
of this ordinance and publish thls ordinance by having tile sane
printed anA posted in three public places iii the City of Lodi,which
posting shall be done by the City IIarshal.
