ORDINANCE NO. 576
ORDERING THE VACATION OF THAT PORTION OF
ORANGE AVENUE LYING NORTH OF SYLVIA DRIVE
The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows:
WHEREAS, this City Council, acting in accordance with
the provisions of Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and High-
ways Code of this State (The Street Vacation Act of 19411, did on
the 3rd day of October, 1956, pass and adopt its Resolution of
Intention No. 1974 therein declaring the intention of said City
Council to vacate Orange Street as particularly described in said
Resolution, and
WHEREUS, notice of said intended vacation was regularly
given by publication and by posting, both in time, form and
manner as required by law as is evidenced by affidavits on file
and of record in the office of the City Clerk of the City of
Lodi, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provision stated in said
Resolution No. 1974 and also contained in the posted notices
of the adoption of said Resolution, notice was given that
a public hearing would be held before said City Council in the
City Council Chambers, City Hall, Lodi, California, beginning
at 8:OO o'clock p.m. of Wednesday, November 7, 1956, where and
when any person interested in or objecting to said street vaca-
tion could appear and be heard in relation thereto, and
WHEREAS, at that time and place a public hearing was held
and conducted and testimony received for and against the vaca-
tion contemplated, and from the evidence submitted, the City
Council of the City of Lodi did on the 7th day of November,
1956, determine that said street is unnecessary for present
or future public use and did so find and declare, now there- .
fore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS :
Section 1. The following described street in the City
of Lodi is hereby ordered vacated, closed up and abandoned:
That portion of Orange Avenue lying North of Sylvia
Drive in Crescent Nanor No. 2 as said street is
designated on map entitled "Crescent Plianor No. 2"
' filed March 28, 1956, Volume 14, Page 89, Book of
Naps and Plats, San Joaquin County Records.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be published one time
in the "Lodi News-Sentinel", a newspaper of general circu-
lation printed and published in the City of Lodi and shall
be in force and take effect at the time and in the manner
provided by law. The City Clerk shall cause a certified
copy of this ordinance to be recorded in the office of the
County Recorder of San Joaquim County as required by Section
832h of the Streets and Highways Code of this State.

November 7, 1956, and was thereafter passed, adopted and
ordered to print at a regular meeting held November 21, 1956,

AYES: Councilmen - Fuller, Hughes, Katsakian, Robinson
and Mitchell
NOES: Councilmen - None
ABSENT: Councilmen - None
I further certify that Ordinance No. 576 was approved
and signed by the Mayor on the date of its passage and has
been published pursuant to law.
