HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - No. 548In the City Council City of Lodi Lodi, California ORDINANCE NO. 548 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 519 ENTITLED "BDOPTING AN ELECTRICAL CODE REGULMING THE IN- STALLATION, OPERATION, ANu MAINTENANCE OF ELECTRIC WIRING AND ELECTRICALLY OPERATED APPLIANCES TO BE CONNECTED THERETO BY ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 'UNIFORM ELECTRICAL CODE' 1953 EDITION, WHICH IN TURN ADOPTS BY REFEREN& THE 'NATIONAL ELEC- TRICAL CODE' , 1953 EDITION, ESTABLISHING RULES AND REGULATIONS IN CONNFXTION THEREWITH, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 488". The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows : Section 1. Section 2357, Article 230, of Ordinance No. 519 entitled "Adopting an Electrical Code Rggulating the Installation, Operation, and 'Maintenance of Electric Wiring and Electrically Operated Appliances to be Connected Thereto by Adopting by Reference the 'Uniform Electrical Code', 1953 Edition, which in Turn Adopts by Reference the *National Electrical Code', 1953 Edition, Establishing Rules and Regulations in Connection Therewith, and Repealing Or- dinance No. 488'1, is hereby amended to read as follows: 2357. Rating of Service Switch (Amendment) Service switches or circuit breakers serving single family and duplex- type dwellings shall have a carrying capacity of not less than 100 amperes in any dwelling of 900 square feet or more. In dwellings of less than 900 square feet, the service switch means shall be 60 amperes in cases where fused switches are used, and not less than 50 amperes where circui't breakers are employed. In all other types of occupancies the rating of the service switch shall be determined in accordance with Section 2203. 1. Section 2. This ordinance shall be published one 'time in the "Lodi News-Sentinel" and shall be in forcd and take effect 30 days after its passage. Approved this 7th daymrch, 1956. J.
