ORDINANCE NO. 534
APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF THE WILLOW GLEN
XDDITION TO THE CITY OF LODf AND DECLARING
THAT THE SAME IS ANNEXED TO AND MADE PART OF - ~~.~ ~~ THE CITY OF LODI
WHEREAS, the Boundary description of the hereinafter
described territory was submitted to the Boundary Commission
of San Joaquin County and was presumed definite and certain
after the lapse of more than twenty days without report from
that body, and
WHEREAS, on the 18th day of May, 1955, the City Council
of the City of Lodi did initiate proceedings and declare its
intention to annex to said City the hereinafter described unin-
habited territory. Thereupon Resolution No. 1866, giving notice
of the proposed annexation and of the time and place for the
hearing of protests against such annexation, was adopted by
said City Council, such hearing to be held in the City Council
Chambers, City Hall, Lodi, California, begiruilng at 8:oo o'clock
p.m. of Wednesday, July 6, 1955, and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the adoption of said Resolution
No. 1866, conforming therewith and with the provisions of the
"Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939'L notice was
given owners of property within the territory proposed for
annexation by publication of said Resolution No. 1866 in news-
papers of general circulation printed and published in the
City of Lodi and in San Joaquin County outside said City as
is evidenced by affidavits thereof on file and of record in
the office of the City Clerk of the City of Lodi, said publi-
cations being completed more than twenty days prior to the
date of hearing set in Resolution No. 1866, and

WHEREAS, on the 6th day of July, 1955, at the hour of
8:OO o'clock p.m. of said day, in the City Council Chambers,
City Hall, Lodi, California, pursuant to resolution and notice
aforesaid, the City Council of the City of Lodi did hold and
conduct a public hearing for the hearing of protests or objec-
tions against the annexation of said territory to the City of
Lodi, and said protests being heard, considered and passed upon
by said City Council, and found to have been made by owners
of less than one-half of the assessed value of the territory
proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assess-
ment roll of San Joaquin County, California, now therefore
THE CIm COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The annexation of the following described
uninhabited territory in San Joaquin County, contiguous to the
City of Lodi, designated ltWillow Glen Additiont1 is hereby approved
and the same is hereby declared to be annexed to and made part
of the City of Lodi:
A portion of the Southeast Quarter of Section 35,
Township 4 North, Range 6 East, Mount Diablo Base
and Meridian, and more particularly described as
follows :
Commencing at a point on the present boundary
line of the City of Lodi 1177.8 feet easterly and
30 feet northerly from the Southwest Corner of said
Southeast Quarter, which point is also on the North
line of Turner Road (Woodbridge Road), and running
North 2195 feet, more or less, to the South bank
of the Mokelumne River; thence meandering along
the South bank of said River in an easterly direc-
tion, upstream, to a corner of the present City
boundary line; thence southerly along said City
boundary line 1851 feet, more or less, to a corner

of said City boundary line, which point also lies
on the North line of said Turner Road; thence
westerly along said North line and City boundary
line to the point of beginning, containing 49.3
acres, more or less.
Reference is hereby made to a map or plat on file in the office
of the City Clerk of this City delineating the boundaries next
above described.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be published one time
in the "Lodi News-Sentinel", a daily newspaper of general
circulation printed and published in the City of Lodi and
shall be in force and take effect thirty days from and after
its passage.
Section 3. Upon the effective date of this ordinance,
the City Clerk shall immediately prepare under seal a certified
copy of the ordinance, giving the date of its passage, and
transmit it to the Secretary of State. He shall also comply
with the provisions of such statutues as may be applicable
hereto to effect the purposes hereof.

duced in regular meeting of said Council held July 6, 1955,
and was thereafter passed, adopted and ordered to print at a
regular meeting of the City Council held July 20, 1955, by
the following vote:

NOES : Councilmen - Ncne
ABSENT: Councilmen - None
I FURTHER CERTIFY that Ordinance No. 534 was approved
Richey and Robinson
and signed by the Mayor on the date of its pssage and has
been published pursuant to law.
