ORDINANCE NO. 528
APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF THE WESTERN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LO1 AND DECLAR-
ING THAT THE SAME IS ANNEXED TO AND MADE PART OF THE CIm OF LODI
WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of San Joaquin County
did on the 8th day of February, 1955, approve the boundary
line description of the hereinafter described territory,
proposed for annexation to the City of Lodi, as to definite-
ness and certainty, and
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of February, 1955, the City
Council of the City of Lodi did initiate proceedings and
declare its intention to annex to said City the hereinafter
described uninhabited territory.
1857, giving notice of the proposed annexation and of the
time and place for the hearing of protests against such
annexation, was adopted by said City Council, such hearing
to be held in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Lodi,
California, beginning at 8:OO o'clock p.m. of Wednesday,
April 6, 1955, and
Thereupon Resolution No.
WHERMS, subsequent to the adoption of said Resolution
No. 1857, conforming therewith and with the provisions of the
"Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939It, notice was
given owners of property within the territory proposed for
annexation by publication of said Resolution No. 1857 in
newspapers of general circulation printed and published in
the City of Lodi and in San Joaquin County outside said City
as is evidenced by affidavits thereof on file and of record
in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Lodi, said
publications being completed more than twenty days prior to
the date of hearing set in Resolution No. 1857, and

WHEREAS, on the 6th day of April, 1955, at the hour of
8:oo o'clock p.m. of said day, in the City Council Chambers,
City Hall, Lodi, California, pursuant to resolution and notice
aforesaid, the City Council of the City of Lodi did hold and
conduct a public hearing for the hearing of protests or objec-
tions against the annexation of said territory to the City
of Lodi, and said protests being heard, considered and passed
upon by said City Council, and found to have been made by owners
of less than one-half of the assessed value of the territory
proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assess-
ment roll of San Joaquin County, California, now therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LODI DOES ORDAIN AS
F OLL OWS :
Section 1. The annexation of the following described
uninhabited territory in San Joaquin County, contiguous to the
City of Lodi, designated "Western Addition" is hereby approved
and the same is hereby declared to be annexed to and made part
of the City of Lodi:
Commencing at a point on the present boundary
line of the City of Lodi, which point is also the
Northeast corner of the Northwest Quarter of the
Northwest Quarter of Section 11, Township 3 North,
Range 6 East, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian, and
running along the east line of said'Quarter Quarter
Section to the Southeast corner of said Quarter Quarter
Section; thence westerly along the south line of
said Quarter Quarter Section to the Southwest corner
of said Quarter Quarter Section, which point is on
the east line of the Main Canal of the Woodbridge
Irrigation District; thence northerly along the
west line of said Section 11, which line is also

the east line of said Main Canal, a distance of
433 feet, more or less, to the Northeast corner
of said Main Canal; thence westerly along the
north line of Main Canal 2251.7 feet; thence north
919 feet, more or less, to the north line of the
County Road (Sargent Road) ; thence easterly along
the north line of said County Road 3065.4 feet,
more or less, to the boundary line of the City of
Lodi; thence southerly along said City boundary
line 30 feet, more or less, to the north line of
said Section 11; thence easterly along said north
line and City boundary line to the point of begin-
ning, containing 88.8 acres, more or less.
Reference is hereby made to a map or plat on file in the office
of the City Clerk 09 this City delineating the boundaries nexf
above described.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be published one time
in the "Lodi News-Sentinel", a daily newspaper of general
circulation printed and published in the City of Lodi and
shall be in force and take effect thirty days from and after
its passage.
Section 3. Upon the effective date of this ordinance,
the City Clerk shall immediately prepare under seal a certified
copy of the ordinance, giving the date of its passage, and
transmit it to the Secretary of State.

Lodi and ex officio Clerk of the City Council of said City,
do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 528
was introduced in regular meeting of said Council held
April 6, 1955, and was thereafter passed, adopted and
ordered to print at a regular meeting of the City Council
held April 20, 1955, by the following vote:
AYES : Councilmen - Fuller, Hughes, Mitchell,
NOES: Councilmen - None
ABSENT: Councilmen - None
