WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of San Joaquin County did on the 8th day of February, 1955, approve the boundary line description of the hereinafter described territory, proposed for annexation to the City of Lodi, as to definite- ness and certainty, and WHERWS, on the 16th day of February, 1955, the City Council of the City of Lodi did initiate proceedings and declare its intention to annex to said City the hereinafter described uninhabited territory. 1856, giving notice of the proposed annexation and of the time and place for the hearing of protests against such annexation, was adopted by said City Council, such hearing to be held in the City Council Chpmbers, City Hall, Lodi, California, beginning at 8:OO ofclock p.m. of Wednesday, April 6, 1955, and Thereupon Resolution No. WHEREaS, subsequent to the adopiion of said Resolution No. 1856, conforming therewith and with the provisions of the “Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939”, notice was given owners of property within the territory proposed for annexation by publication of said Resolution No. 1856 in news- papers of general circulation printed .and published in the City of Lodi and in San Joaquin County outside said City as is evidenced by affidavits thereof on file and of record in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Lodi, said publi- cations being completed more than twenty days prior to the date of hearing set in Resolution No. 1856, and -1- WHEREAS, on the 6th day of April 1955, at the hour of 8:OO o'clock p.m. of. said day, in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Lodi, California, pursuant to resolution and notice aforesaid, the City Council of the City of Lodi did hold and conduct a public hearing for the hearing of protests or objec- tions against the annexation of said territory to the City of Lod)i and said protests being heard, considered and passed upon by said City Couneil, and found to have been made by owners of less than one-half of the assessed value of the territory proposed to be annexed as shown by the last equalized assessment roll of San Joaquin Countyq California, now therefore THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF' DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The annexation,of the following described uninhabited territory in San Joaquin County, contiguous to the City of Lodi, designated "57th Addition, Lands North of Kettle- man Lane and East of Fairmont &venue" is hereby approved and the same is hereby declared to be annexed to and made part of the City of Lodi: AP T3N, R6E, M.D.B. more particularly described as follows: n of the Southeqst Quarter of: Section 11, M., San Joaquin County and being Beginning at a point on the south like of the Southeast Quarter of S on 11, T3N, p6E, ast of the Sout thence N lo 36' E a distance f the present boundary line of the City of Lodi; thence Northkply along said City boundary line a distance of 1422.1 feet, more or less, to a corner of said City boundary line; thence Westerly along saiti City boundary line 780 feet, more or less, to the East line of Fairmont Avenue (formerly Walnut Avenue); thence Southerly along said East line and its extension to its intersection with the South line of said Southeast Quarter; thence Easterly along said South line 738.4 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning, containing 25.2 acres, more or less. Reference is hereby made to a map or plat on file in the office of the City Clerk of this City delineating the boundaries next above described. Section 2. This ordinance shall be published one time in the “Lodl News-Sentinel”, a daily newspaper of general cir- culation printed and published in the City of Lodi and shall be in force and take effect thirty days from and after its passage. Section 3. Upon the effective date of this ordinance, the City Clerk shall immediately prepare under seal a certified copy of the ordinance, giving the date of its passage, and transmit it to the Secretary of State. with the provisions of such statutes as may be applicable hereto to effect the purposes hereof.
