ORDINANCE N0.M.
An Ordinance providing Regulations for the Municipal Light
Works,and Fixing Rates for Light and Power.
The Board of Trustees of the City df Lodi do ordain as follows:
Consumer bound by rules.
Sec.1.- Every person taking electricity from the City.plant
shall be considered as having expressed his consent to be bound
by the provisions of this ordinance and any other rules or
regulations of the City relating to the use of electricity for
light, or power,and when any one of the rules or regulations is
violated the right is reaerved to shut off the electricity
without notice,and the person whose supply of electricity is
thus shut off shall forfeit all paJrrnents made,and the current
shall not be turned on again until all unpaid rents and charges
are paid,to-gether with a charge of one dollar for turning
it on again.
Devices. Sec.2.- All persons using electric current shall furnish to %he
Superintendent of the Water and Light Works a true and compleUe
list of all current consuming devices used on the premises,and
no additional devices shall be installed without first making
an application for the same at the office of the City Clerk.
General Sec.3.- The provisions of Ordinance No.46 ,relating to applic- provis- ions. ations,discontinuance,conneotion~ections,ex~enses,a~ents,directions,
perinits ,inspection,charges ,payment of charges ,meters ,and pay-
ment of rents,so far as the sam may be applicablearz're herP;by: made a part of this ordinance,and shall apply to the h4unicipal Light Plant.
Fine. Sec.4.- Any person violating my of the provisions of this
ordinance relating to the use of electricity,or the introduct-
ion of electricity to any premises,where no other penalty is
provided herein,shall upon conviction be fined not less than
one dollar nor more than one hundred dollars.
Anendment . Sec.5.- The rules and regulations contained in this ordinance
are subject to amendment and alteration at any time,vrithout
notiee to consmers,in such$#@ters as may be deemed expedient
by the Board of Trustees or' the City of Lodi.
Rate. Sec.6.- The scheCxle of rates tor. electric curren; shall be as
follows per month:
Consumers using electricity through meter will be charged at the
rate of Gfi per K.W.hour (excepting such consumers as do not use
current between the hours of 6 o'clock P.H. and 10 otclOck P.l,f.9
who shall be charged at the rate of 46 Der K.~~.hour),~~rovided
such consumer be charged. a minimum monthly bill of $1.00 for each
K.W. of connected load,provided that $1.00 be the lowest mininIllm
monthly charze for any consumer ,and provided further that in
estimating the connected load- of residences half the number of
lamps be deducted from the total connected load. In addition to
the amount to he charged as shown by meter,each Constmer shall
be charged #.50 per month for lraintenance of each service,the
number of meters fixing the number of services.

Each applicant for electrical energy to be measured by
meter will be required to deposit with the City the cost of such
meter f.0.b. San Francisco and to gay the cost of setting the DSX
meter on his gremises,and failing to do so such consumer will be
charged a monthly rental of 3$ of the cost of such meter f.0.b.
San Francisco. On return of a meter in good condition on which

Consumers paying a flat rate for lights will be charged as

Residences and offices wherz not more than one lamp is left to
burn all night for five lights or less $1.50,for more than five
lights but not more than ten lights $2.00,anB for each additional
connected light 56.
Stores and buslnsss houses where not more than 1/5 the total WWML
nwnber of lamps are left to hum later than 10 ?.hI. $3.75 for
five lights or less and 504J& for gach additional light. Arc Bxgx

lights later than 10 P.X. but not later thax 12:3O A.M. $5.00 for
five lights or less and 75+ for each additional light.Arc lights

For the puryose of estimating the nwnber of lights, the
16 c.p. 60 watt lamp shall be called one light.
This ordinance 'shall be published once in the Lodi Sentinel
a newspager of general <circulation printed and published in the
City of Lodi, and shall be in force and take effect frola and
after its pascage and publication.
