ORDINANCE NO. 465
AMENDING SECTIONS 5, 7 AND 13 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 444 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE
COMPENSATION OF OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF
THE CITY OF LODI AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH"
The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows:
Section 1. Section 7 of Ordinance No. 444 shall be amended
by the addition of a subsection lettered (el, which shall read
as follows:
"(el Overtime in excess of the normal work week
shall be compensated for at one and one-half times the
hourly rates set forth in Table I1 hereof, or by com-
pensatory time off equal to one-and one-half times the
excess time worked. This provision shall not apply to
members of the uniformed forces or to employments re-
quiring special shift assignments or to other special
conditions wherein its operation is inequitable or
contrary to the best interests of the employee or the
City."
Section 2. Table 111, Section 7, Ordinance No. 444, as
amended, is hereby amended and shall read as follows:

Section 3. The following list of employees of Lodi Public
Library, addedto Table I11 by Ordinance 4.50, is hereby amended
to read as follows:

Section 4. Section 5 of said Ordinance No. 444, as amended,
is further amended by the addition of a subsection lettered (el,
which shall read as follows:
ct(e) The Superintendent of Public Utilities may
designate one employee in the Groundman classification
for specific assignment to operation of and responsi-
bility for the truck and winch used by the electric line
crew. This authority is confined to a single person
whose duties shall include both those of Groundman
and truck operator. When such an assignment is made,
a salary one step higher than that appropriate to
Groundman may be authorized.n
Section 5. Subsection (b), Section 13, of Ordinance No.
444 is hereby amended and shall read as follows:
"(b) Sick leave may be accuniulated up to a
total of 120 days. No additional sick leave with
pay beyond that accumulated shall be granted unless,
in unusual circumstances, the City Council shall so
authorize .It
Section 6. This ordinance shall be published one time
after its passage in the "Lodi News-Sentinel", a daily news-
paper of general circulation printed and published in the City
of Lodi, and shall be in force and take effect from and after
July 1, 1952.
