ORDINANCE N0.46. - An Ordinance Providing Regulations for the Municipal Water ~ ' Works., and Fixing Rates for Water. The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi do ordain as follovm: consumer bound by rules. Appl i c at - ion and permit . 1 Sec.1.- Every person taking City water shall be co having expressed his consent to be bound by the provisions of this ordinance hereinafter contained ,and whenever aiy one of these rules and regulations ibs violated the right is reserved to shut off the water without notice,and the person whose water is thus shut off shall forfeit all pa3rments made,and the water shall not be turned on again until all ?mpaid rents and charges are paid,together with a char&e of one dollar ($1.00) for turn- ing it on again. SeC.2.- All persons desiring a water supply from the City water ~vorlis iaust make a written or printed application at the 3?&2?X office of the City Clork,statinz fully the several uses for which water is wanted. Swh agylicatioii must be signed by the ovrner of the preirlises for ishich :sater is wanted,or his duly authorized attorney,whereupon a permit to perforri the necessary work will be issued,it being understood that in all cases the owner of the Bromises shall be liable for all water used a8 lvell as for anv other cost of service. Additiona#Sec.3.- In ease the owner of the premises on which the water service. is Lised at any tine desires additional service pipe or fiXtEmS, a farther application must be inacte and an additional permit , issued. Discontin-Sec.4- In case the owner of the premises on whieh water is uance. used desires to aiscontinue the use of water from any service, he nust make an application for that purpose at the OfflCe Of the City ClerB,and after the date of such application the water rents accruing for said service shall cease for the period during which sai? service shall be shut off ,providing the gericP1 02 sncn discontimwnce be not less than one month. ROTN 2 Sec.5.- No person except the du:!y appointed City tapper Will be permitted to tap any of the water pipes of the main line or distributing system,or to insert tees,stop-cocks or ferule8 therein,and any violation of this regulation is hereby declared to be a misdeneanos and will be punishable by a fine of not less than ten nor more Ba&i than one hundred dollars. Sec.6 *- All expenses at tending the introduction of IEVteT from any street main into any premises must be paid by the applicant. Sec.7.- The person or persons employed in making connections called for in any application for water will be considered as the agent of the owner while xkckjtls: enployed in the prosecution of the Work named in the application,and the City 05 Lodi will in 110 wise hold itsel3 responsible for his or their acts while 80 employed. Sec.8.- The size of the tap to be inserted into a Y water main, and the size and quality of the senice pipe between the tap in the street main avd the curii line,curb cock and curb bQx, under any application,will be determined by the City 0s its agent. Sec.9 .- Service pipe connections will be at right angles with any main passing said premises,and the service pipe will be carried in a direct line to the inside of the crjlrb line of the street,at which point a metaliic curb box of such form and con- str:iction as may be approved by the City Trustees shall be inserted and properly connected with the service pipe. Amending rmles a Sec.44.- All bills for water furnished by the City of Lodi Shall be payable to the City Clerk at his office in the City of Lodi from the first to and including the tenth day of each month for the month preceding. On the eleventh day of each month the Clerk shall make out and deliver to the Superintend- ent of the Water Works a list of all persons and premises in- debted to the City of Lodi for water used durLng the paxaele~lkwc; previous month,whereupon the Superintendent of the Water works shall cause the water to he shut off from all such delinquent persons or premises. Sec. 45.- Any person violating any of the provisions contained in this ordina?sce relating to the use of water by consul!iers or water takers ,or the introduction of water to any prerni%es,vfhere no other penalty is provided herein shall upon conviction be fined not less than one dollar nor more than one hundreci dollars. Sec.46.- The rules and regulations contained in this ordinance are subject to amendment and alteration at any time,ivithOUt notice to consuniers,in si%ch matters as nay be deemed expedient by the Board of Trustees of the Cit? of Lodi.
