An Ordinance Prohibiting the Proprietor or Person in Charge
of Any Place Where Billiards or Pool Is Played for a Charge to Permit
Any Person under the Age of Eighteen Years to Play Billiards or Pool
Therein or to Enter Any Inclosure where Billiards or Pool Is Played or
to Bet on the Result of Any Such Game of Billiards or Poo1,and Prohibiting
Any Person under the Age of Eighteen Years from Playing Billlards or
Pool at Such Place or from Betting on the Result of Any Such Game of
Billiards or Pool; and Imposing Penalties.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Lodi do ordain as follows:
Section 1. Every prvgrietor of any place within the corporate linits of

therein; provided,that ,where more than one line of business is carried
on by the proprietor of any place where billiards or pool is played,
said proprietor must divide said space where said billiards or pool is
played from such other business by a railing 34 feet RtgR in height,
and no person under the age of ft eighteen years shall be permitted by
said proprietor or person in charge of said premises to enter such inclos-
ure.
Section 2. Every person under the age of eighteen years is hereby prohib-
ited from playing billiards or pool or entering any space where billLards
or pool is played for a charge or betting on the result of my game of
billiards or pool.
Section 3. Every person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance
is punishable by imprisonment l22x-m in the county jail of the
County of San Joaquin or the city jail of the City of Lodi not to exceed
sixty days or by a fine not to exceed one hundred dollars or by both such
fibe and imyrisonment or by such fine with a direction in the jUdgnnent
that the defendant be so imprisoned until the fine is satisfied,,gudment
specifying the term of such imprisonment which nust not exceed one day
for each dollar of the fine.

Section 4. Nothing in this OrAinance contained repeals any part of
Ordinance Number Twenty-six of the City of Lodi,
Section 5. This ordinance shall be published once in the Lodi Sentinel,
a nervsgaper of general circulation published in the City of Lodi,and
shall have znd take effect on the first day of March,l910.
