ORDINANCE NO. 394
REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 331 ADOPTED DECEl'5ER 18 , 194% AWD ORDIWANCE NO.
254 ADOPTED JULY 19, 1939 AND IN LIEU
THZREOF ADOFTING THE WSTERN PLUWIBING
OFFICIALS UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE.
The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 331, adopted December 18, 1946,
entitled "An Ordinance Providing Rules and Regulations for Plumb-
ing and Drainage Work in the City of Lodi; Providing for Licenses,
Registration and Permits for All Persons Doing Plumbing; Creating
the Bffice of Plumbing Inspector and Assistant Plumbing Inspector,
Defining their Powers and Duties; Providing Penalties for the
Violation of this Ordinance and Repealing All Ordinances and Parts
of Ordinances in Conflict Herewith in so far as Such Conf'lict May
Exist" , is repealed.
Section 2. Ordinance No. 254, adopted July 19, 1939, entitled
"An Ordinance Regulating the Sale, Installation, Naintenance and
Repair of Appliances and/or Gas Piping on the Outlet Side of Gas
Meters for Use within the City of Lodi, and providfng for Inspection
thereof, issuance of Permits and Collection of Fees therefore, Li-
censing of Persons Engaged in the Business thereof, Imposing Penal-
ties for Violation of this Ordinance, Adopting a Standard Gas Code
in Respect thereto, and Repealing All Ordinances in Conf'lict there-
with", is repealed.
Section 3. The Western Plumbinp: Officials Uniform Plumbing
Code, hereinafter referred to as "Uniform Plumbing Code" , edition
of 1948, three copies of which code have heretofore been filed
with the City Clerk of this City, is hereby adopted by reference
and the provisions of said Uniform Plumbing Code, edition of 1948,
shall obtain and apply to all matters appertaining to plumbing
and %as fitting as set forth in the subtitle of said Uniform Plumb-
ing Code.
The office of Plumbing Official created by Section 102 of
said Uniform Plumbing Code and mentioned i.n the several sectj.ons
thereof shall mean the appointed Plumbing Inspector of the City of
Lodi. Said Plumbing Inspector shall be appointed by and serve at
the pleasure of the City Manager.
Blank lines in the sections of the printed copies of said
Uniform Plumbing Code, in applying the same to the City of Lodi,
shall be filled in with the words and fiRures hereinafter set
forth and shall be part hereof:

Section 108 line four, insert Five Rundred Dollars ($500.00)

"Sec.202 - Appointment of a Board of Plumber Examiners
The Board of Plumbing Examiners shall be under the
jurisdiction of the Buildinp Department and shall
consist of five members, having thereon an equal
number of Licensed h4aster Plumbers and Certified
Journeymen Plumbers, who shall be appointed by the
City Council. The members of said Board shall serve
for four years unless sooner removed for malfeasance
in office, neglect of duty or incapaciby.

Before any Master Plumber's License shall be issued
or renewed, the applicant therefor shall pay One
Hundred Dollars ($100.00) to the Director of Finance,
provided, that any person, firm or corporation en-
gaged solely in the business of gas installation and
gas fitting shall pay an annual license fee of Twenty-
five Dollars ($25.00). The license fees he,rein pro-
vided shall be in addition to those imposed by Ordin-
ance No. 375 or any amendment thereto.
