ORDINANCE NO. 379
APPROVING THE ANNEXATIOX TO THE CITY OF LODI
OF CERTAIN UNIKEIABITED TERRITORY IN THE COUNTY
OF SAX JOAQUIN, DESIGNATED ''COSTA ADDITION"
AND XORE PARTICTJLARLY DESCRIBED HFESIlT.
WHEREAS, 'This City Council did on the 27th day of Novem-
ber, 1948, pass and adopt its Resolution Ro, 1442 declaring the
intention of said City Council to annex to the City of Lodi
certain lands in the Northeast One Quarter of Section Two, Town-
ship Three North, Range Six East and giving reasons therefor,.
in accordance with proceedings to be had conforming to the pro-
visions of the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939:
as amended, designating the territory in said resolution and
in this ordinance described, as "COSTA ADIIITION" as an appro-
priate identification, and,
WHEREAS, The City Planning Commission Of the City of Lodi
has approved the annexation of said territory, f ind-ing that the
improvements thereon and the public improvements therein are not
inferior to those required by the laws, ordinances and regulations
of this City, and,
WHEREAS, Due publication of said Resolution No, 144.2 was
had in time, form and manner as required by Law as is evidenced
by the affidavit of the principal clerk of the publisher of
"The Lodi Times," the newspaper of general circulation in which
said resolution was published,on file and or" record in the office
of the City Clerk of this City, and,

WHEEAS, Among other things, said Resolution No. 1442
gave public notice that owners of real property affected by said
annexation might file written protests or objections thereto up
to the hour of 8:OO o'clock p.m. with the Clerk of this City
Council which protests or objections would be heard and considered
by this City Council in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Lodi,
California, and
WTHEFBAS, At that time and place, this City Council did,
in open meeting, declare.that it was then ready to receive and
hear all protests or objections to this,annexation and no protests,
either written or oral were then received nor were any such re-
ceived by or filed with the City Clerk and then this City Council
did. there acquire jurisd-iction to annex said territory to the
City of Lodi, now therefore ,
TFIX CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF Lox DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS :
Section 1. The annexation of the following described
uninhabited territory in San Joaquin County, Cd ifornia, contiguous
to said City is hereby approved and said territory, designated as
"COSTA ADDITION" is hereby annexed to and made part of the City
of Lodi, viz:
A portion of the Northeast One Quarter of Section Two,
Township Three North, Range Six East, (Sect. 2, T3N, R6E,
N.D.5, & No).
where the southerly extension of the east line of Grant Avenue
Beginning on the present city boundary line
intersects the northerly line of thk Southern Pacific Company,
Woodbridge Branch Railroad right of way, (formerly San Joaquin

and Sierra Eailroad), and running thence Southerly on the ex-
tended east line of Grant Avenue to the north line of west
Lockerford Street; thence Westerly on said north line to its
intersection with-the west line of Lot Six (6) in Block
Thirteen (13) of Hlltchins Addition to Lodi, extended northerly;
thence Southerly on said extended west line across Lockeford
Street and following the present city boundmy line to the
south line of Lockeford Street; thence Westerly on and along
the south line of Lockeford Street to the Northwest corner of
Lot One (1) in "Cainard Subdivisionf!) thence N Oo 1421 E on
the extension of the west line of said Lot 1, thirty (30) f'eet
more or,less to the center line of West Lockeford Street;
thence S 85' 451 E on said center line to a point thereon
760.32 feet from the west line of the WE-& of Section 2, Tom-
ship 3 North, Range 6 East, said point being the southwest
corner of that certsin 12.40 acre tract of land deeded by Carlo
Peirano and Luigia. Peirano to Lodi School Distri-ct by d.eed
recorded September 30, 1948; thence N 0' 481 W along the west
line of said School District property and its northerly exten-
sion 107.!+.90 feet, more or less, to the north line of the
Southern Pacific Company Woodbridge Branch Railroad right of
way; thence S 67' 24' E on and along said north line to its
intersection with the southerly production of the east line
of Grant Avenue and the point of beginning of the tract of
land herein described and proposed to be annexed.
Section 2. Upon the effective date of this ordinance, the
City Clerk shall make, certify and transmit a copy hereof to the

Secretary of State of the State of Califomiz, giving the date
of its passage, adoption and approval, and he shall also comply
with such other statutes as may be applicable hereto to effect
the purposes hereof.

certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 379 was regularly
introduced in the City Council of said City on the 15th day of December, 1948 and WES thereafter, on the 5th day of Jan-
uary, 1949, passed, adopted and ordered to print by the fol-
lowing vote:
