ORDINANCE NO. 363
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE &!NIXATION
OF IJXORTH CROSS STREXT ADDITION" TO
TKE CITY 3F LODI, CAIJFORXTIA
IVHEREAS, in answer to a petition signed by the owners of not less than
one-fourth of the area and representing in excess of one-fourth of the as-
sessed value of the territory hereinafter described, the City Council of the
City of Lodi did, on the 28th day of January, 1948, pass and adopt its
Resolution No. 1394 declaring it to be the intention of said City Councj.1
to annex to the City of Lodi that certain uninhabited territory described
in the above mentioned petition, the same being Located in San Joaquin
CoLmty, contiguous to the City of Lodi and uninhabited within the meaning of
the ItAnnexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939" as amended, pursuant
to the provisions of which act, the said City Council declared its intention
to proceed, designating this territory. "North Cross Street Addition" as an
appropriate means of identification thereof, and,
WKEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of Lodi at its mest-
ing of January 26, 1948, did find that the design of the subdivisions in
this proposed addition, the improvements thereon and the public improvements
therein were not inferior to those required by the laws, ordinances and
regulations of the City of Lodi and did so report to the City Council, and,
WHEREAS, due publication of said Resolution Xo. 1394 was had in time,
fom., and manner as required by law in the Lodi Times as is evidenced by
affidavit on file and bf record in the office of the City Clerk of this
City, which resolution, among other things gave public notice that owners of
real property affected by said annexation might file written protests or
objections up to the hour of 8:OO o'clock P. M. of Wednesday, February 18,
1948, with the Clerk of this City Council which protests or objections would
be heard and considered by this City Council in the Council Chambers, City
Hall, Lodi, California, at that time, and,
I-S, at that time and place, this City Council did in regular open
meeting declare that it was then ready to receive and hear all protests or
objections to this annexation and no protests, either witten or oral, were
received, then this City Council did there acquire jurisdiction to annex
said territory to the City of Lodi, now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITP OF LODI DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The annexation of the following described uninhabited
territory in San Joaquin County, contiguous to said City of Lodi is here-
by approved and is hereby declared to be annexed to and made part of the
City of Lodi, viz:
I'EACH OF LOTS 21, 23, 24, and 30 AS DESIGNATED ON THE OFFICIAL MAP OF
"GERARD TRACT!' BBAP FILED AUGUST 8, 1916, IN BOOK OF MAPS AND PLATS,
VOL. 8, PAGE 62, RECORDS OF SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY INCLUDIIiG THEFBIN
'REIMAN TRACT' MAP FILED JULY 18, 1946, IN BOOK OF WS AND PLATS,
VOL. EL, PAGE U2, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY RECORDS."
Section 2. Upon the effective date of this ordinance, the City Clerk
shall make, certify, and transmit a copy hereof to the Secretary of State
of the State of California, giving the date of its passage, adoption, and
approval and he shall also comply with such other statutes as may be
applicable hereto to effect the purposes hereof.

that the foregoing Ordinance No. 363 was regularly introduced and read at a
regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on the 18th day of
February, 1948, and was thereafter passed, adopted, and ordered to print in
regular meeting of said City Council held February 251948, by the following '

the Mayor on the date of its final passage and adoption and that the same
