AN ORDINANCE AFPROVING THE A"=-
TION OF " MORENZ ADDITION " TO THE:
CITY OF MDI, CALIFOmTB.
"HEREAS, in answer to a petition signed by the owners of not
less than one-fourth of the area and representing not less than one-fourth
of the assessed value of the territory hereinafter described, the City
Council did, on the 22nd day of October, 1947, pass and adopt its Reso-
lution No. 1374 declaring it to be the intention of said City Council
to annex to the City of Lodi certain uninhabited territory contiguous
to said City, in accordance with the proceedings had and to be had
pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory
Act of 1939'' as amended, said territory for the purposes hereof to be
designated for identification as TJorenz Addition" and particularly
bounded and described as hereinafter set forth, and,
WHEREAS, due publication of said Resolution &To. 1374 was had
in time, fom and manner as required by law is evidenced by affidavit
on file and of record in the office of the City Clerk of this City, and,
PJNEREkS, among other things the said Resolution No. 1374
gave public notice that owners of real property affected by said annexa-
tion might file written protests against said annexation up to the hour
of 8:OO o'clock P. M. of Wednesday, November 19, 1947 with this City
Council, which protests would be received and considered at said day and
hour in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Lodi, California, and,
WHSREAS, at that place and on that day and hour this City
ColJnCil did in open regular meeting declare that it was then ready to
receive and hear any and all protests or objections against the annexa-
tion of said territory to the City of Lodi and no protests either
written or oral were presented, and, by' reason that no protests were
received, this City Council did then and there acquire jurisdiction to
annex said territory to the City of Lodi, ZOW therefore,
The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows:
Section 1. The annexation of the following described unin-
habited territory contiguous to said City of Lodi, County of San Joaquin,
State of California is hereby approved and is hereby declared to be
annexed to and made a part of said City, to-wit:
Lots one (1) to twenty-four (24) as said lots are delineated
and so designated on the official map of TvIorenz Tract", Map
filed June 25, 1947 in Book of Maps and Plats, ?age 151, Vol.
11, San Joaquin County Records, together with the North 13.7
feet of Lot four (4) of the Gerard Tract, Map filed August 8,
1916 in Book of Maps and Plats at Page 62 of Val. 8, San Joa-
quin County Records.
Section 2. Upon the effective date of tlds ordinance, the
City Clerk shall nake, certify and traamit a certified copy hereof
to the Secretzry of State of the State of California, giving the date
of its passage, adoption and approval and he shall cmply with such
other statutes as may be applicable hereto. ,

I, 3. F. BLAKELY, City Clerk of the City of Lodi do hereby
certify that the foregoing Ordinance No. 357 was regularly introduced
and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held
November 19, 1947 and was thereafter passed, adopted and ordered to
print in regular meeting of said City Council held on the 3rd day
of: -bey , 1947, by the following Vote:
